  1. These are $1.50 at Dollarama and work great for tarps or boat covers. Saw the 4 pack at Sail for $8 so a decent deal. Its in the camping stuff.

  2. Thanks guys, ordering a dozen from Best Lure. They look great. I’m not paying big bucks for old Lyman’s. At least not until I know what I’m doing and “the must haves”

  3. What's a Kwikfish Not sure about colours, but I've seen them at GagnonSports, J&S Tackle in the past. Angling Specialties usually carries Flatfish.

  4. You can pick up Best Lure Co. plugs. They are Canadian made and pretty much a complete knock off of a lyman, and they are wood not plastic. Most of the Lake Huron and Georgian Bay Area shops (what’s left of them) carry them. Watson’s in Owen Sound has them for sure. I have used them a fair bit mixed in with my Lyman originals and they run just as well. I have one stairway best lure that‘a got well over 20 matures on it and the paint is tired but still holding up well! I have a box full of Lymans and I like em but I’ll tell you I’d never pay $30-$50 for one since they came out with these knock offs!

  5. Fishing World had new Lymans last time I was there. They were plastic though. That makes them similar to J plugs or Moonshine Lyman style plugs. Like their spoons the Moonshines really glow and glow for a long time. A firm called Tomic also makes a Lyman style plug. Theirs are plastic or a composite material and are big on the left coast. if you are near Owen Sound you could try Fletchers Sports if he's not dead yet. He was an old dude but I've even bought lures off of his ceiling in the past. The lure was a firetiger jointed Bagley minnow that is a killer Chinnook bait

  6. Ipilot... put main in gear bungee steering wheel straight and the bow mount will keep me in a straight line even in 2 fters . So much nicer than sawing the the steering wheel all day. Turn fish id off. Yo want to see your balls in relation to the hooks and adjust accordingly

  7. I am not familiar with any modern lures of this design, but yes that was surely the case with the Power Rattle. It was pricey and had the negative issues I mentioned earlier. I had TWO of them (different colours of course) and threw them both out years ago. And FWIW I do not recall them being particularly effective. In my memory, an original floating Rapala or a white Big O fished the pants off the Power Rattle in the same body of water at the same time. Doug PS) Then I really re-discovered jigs (and jig-like techniques like Texas rigged worms) and never looked back....................

  8. I hope Canadians keep supporting the businesses that advertised to Canadians, that advertise in Canadian dollars, that want us there all the time and not just when the target market dries up.
