  1. Everyone flocks to those big chain stores. I went to the bait shop down the road today, we should all be supporting the smaller stores that have been shut down this whole time. Never mind some billion dollar franchises that were making record online sales.

  3. I’ll be honest, I’m all for supporting local businesses but when it comes to quality and service, sail has them beat. I bought a $20 overpriced j13 rapala from a local store, lip broke first cast, owner won’t replace it. However sail would no questions asked and I have never had it happen from a sail store 🤷‍♂️

  4. Well our local guy has shut down . Bait Bucket . Following the foot steps of the last 4-6 that have tried to make it in Barrie. The lack of a good ice, late season past winter and the road construction that had his rd closed, was a factor. He was probly the best of all that have tried here. Sad that he had to close his doors.

  5. What a sweet deal it was. Cabelas open 9 am. I B-Line to the bargian cave. Loads of tying materials marked down stupid crazy prices. 50-75 % savings. Loaded up. Then I see this wrapped up thing with just some brass showing. Pick it up,read the tag and say,no way. There is usually a note saying something is missing. I ask the lady if she could cut the tape and wrap so I could look at it. Sure as crap,it,was a Griffon rotary vise and everything was in the bundle. One motion jaw for all hook sizes .Reg $200 marked down to $19. I asked no questions. B-Line it to the cash, pay and yelling, start the Ram, start the Ram. LOL Out with the old In with the new

  6. Years ago I used to pinch a small Blackbird split shot on the shank of the rear treble to get it pointing down at rest. Increased hook ups dramatically. The other thing was using a dremel tool to hollow out the cup on the nose end to deepen and sharpen the edges. The bait WILL really pop and gurgle with very little movement afterwards. Gbay smallies love popR’s 😉

  8. Yessss we’ve done this a number of times. S&V miss vickies is good cool ranch or cheese Doritos are good too. Other then that we usually use fish crisp, more often then not Cajun or the Italian flavour.

  9. Black flies are THICK here in Penetang already and ice out happened on Monday on Lake Temagami, so I'd suspect black flies start this weekend based on our 16 years on the lake..

  10. That's crazy! By that standard more than 5 cars stopped at a traffic light is illegal. We met with family at Bass L PP on Sat.We were 7 incl kids but maintained the proper dist. Maybe that was illegal?? I suggested that if any authorities came along we would pretend we didn't know each other.

  11. Transport Canada's boating RECOMMENDATION is to only boat with members of your own household. That said it's not law and fishing in a 14' or larger boat and staying at your own ends = more than 6' of seperation. To follow the social distancing rules under the emergency act, take separate vehicles to the launch, one guy puts the boat in and the other jumps in the nose. Doable and I have at least two buddies doing so since this all started.
