  1. Just killing myself by browsing back through this, about 8 hours before Jen would turn 35 at 8 in the AM. Thanks to all for keeping me sane for almost 10 years and the same group of great guys I had up at my camp last week for allowing me to do my own thing each day ...while my brain continues to keep me awake a night!

  2. Bitter sweet Wayne, a great person and lots of fantastic memories, taken away far too soon. Nice that you can find great memories like this of Jennifer

  3. I love making soups in the winter. Sadly this winter there hasn't been a lot of time to do so. Personally, I'm a chili guy when the temperatures drop.

  4. Now that looks good Spiel. A lot of folks don't realize how nice a stock you can get from the shrimp shells. I assume you simmered them after. After that the local pets sure do like those spent shells. Cheers

  5. Yesterday was a good day to stay in and make another pot of soup (made a 24 serving pot of Beef and Barley Soup last week). This time a Scallop and Shrimp Chowder. It was the perfect snowy day dinner.

  6. It should work; but he'll be shortening the life of all the batteries. The 8 volt battery will never get a full charge due to the cart's charger, charges the batteries as a pack; adding up to approx 36 volts. So that 8 volt battery will only get a partial charge. The 6 volt batteries will also get cheated in charge; for the same reason. The charger looks at total voltage not the individual battery(s). What he'll likely notice is the the range of the cart will continually become shorter after some time. Dan.

  7. Well I did talk to a dealer in Sturgen Falls, they can't rent me one because of insurance (test drive in their parking lot only) however they did tell me I can rent one through Sturgeon Rental so I will be doing that this spring.

  8. They are looking to access lakes and in most cases where snowmobile clubs have made the access part of their trail systems and people who still want to access the lake not run the trail system just to run the trails

  9. That royally sucks Wayne!! Such is life. Death and taxes. I mention Jen to a couple of people I know battling cancer. Climbing the stairs to the top of the CN tower with no hip took a huge amount of bravery and intestinal fortitude. That is how it has to be fought. She inspired me through my own battle, I thought I had it bad, nope, this young girl had it worse and did not let it slow her down. As far as this kid is concerned, Jen is a true Canadian hero.

  11. If I see you Wayne, on the water or any were else I'm going to give you a hug, i hope you don't mind? You and your wife are the measuring sticks of what parenting is and should be. I've read every friggin page of this thread and I'm torn up inside, I've shared your highs and lows and Jen always had her family by her side. I'm confident she knows that and will always have that wherever she is. I'm no author but think about putting this experience to paper it will help a ton of people going through the same thing. Walking through this journey with you via this platform (Ofc)has made me a better parent using you as a model and I thank you and your beautiful family for that! I'm not a religious man but I'm not so ignorant as to not recognise this life isn't the be all and end all,you stuck by her side and you best believe she will return the favour! Fitting you're a pilot my friend.... Chin up you are better than most!!!
