  3. What a gorgeous morning to be sitting out there watching the sun rise . Since the white fish have been so negative to me and my pal,we decided to do some perch,n . I book my uber for 6:30 am pick up. Right on schedule he was. Hook up the smitty and off we went . Seeing the meter was getting up there,I said, drop me off ,,,,,,,,,,,,,right ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,here. I step on to the hard water and my feet start to tingle. Drill 2 quick holes, throw in the ducer and there are fish down there. Drop my first line. 7grm Halo vabrado with a shrimp drop shot. As it,s going down and gets 10 ft from the bottom,a fish rises . I go to reel up slow, but in my excitement,I forgot to unlock the handle. You know, unfold them. Fish hits,I am fuddling with getting the handle in position. Fish is still one once I complete the handle. Reel up and a nice chunky 12". Fish still down there,so drop and again and well,up it comes, hits and that is another 12"er in a matter of few minutes. Do it again as they are still down there. Same thing. WOW this is going to be a great morning. That is when the brakes lock up . Not a single fish comes in again for 20 minutes. Move 3 times and pick up 1 keeper at each stop on my shrimp fly. Make one more move, last for the morning . Marking fish. Lots. Drop and they are not interested . After 20 minutes of trying to hook up,I drop down a new bait. Norland purple lipless. Keep it 10 ft off bottom and jig it looking for aggressive fish. A few rise, but go back down. I drop to the bottom, smash it off the bottom then reel it up. Got a chase. Coming, coming, coming and on. I thought maybe it was a small whitie the way it fought, but it would turn out to be a PB 15 1/4 " perch. Sadly it blew it,s bladder out, so it was coming home. These fish are big, but the meat result is not great. Males IMO, have the best thick shoulders. Anyhoo Ended with lucky 7 keepers for the morning. Just enough for a fresh feed . I can say this about perch,n ,they sure keep you glued to the finder watching . Unlike those whities that seem to be just cruising about and making you pull yer hair out. If those dang whities don't start to get active , I just may need to take up this perch fishing.

  4. Made by Polaris, I'd bring a back up snowmobile of another brand.🤣

  5. Yup, that was us. We poked holes all over the place but that was the most consistent spot. Didn’t hurt that we were staying at Temagami Shores so we were able to stay out later and avoid a nighttime snowmobile ride

  6. This Wednesday is gonna be soooo boring again. Really enjoyed the show, all personalities and the great showcasing of so many fish. Would love to see more but do agree with said above, that too much of it too often and it may get overplayed. I'd think a good and easier step for these guys for something different, would be to pick some place none have been, that has plenty big fish in a few species, and make some kind of three day tourney out of it. Bill... snagging pike in murky waters is an art. I'll give 'em the point for ganking, but only on one fish. lol.

  7. No one really goes to Temagami for the fishing... lol. It's such a beyotch of a fish even when it's on. Would like to give it another crack some winter... and yeah Chris, something about the south end calls ya down there.

  8. well we put the method Irish suggested to test and it worked until mother nature screwed us over. Really frustrating. I spent 7.5 hours first snowblowing, then shovelling then flooding and scraping and flooding and scraping again. The problem? 60kmh winds that kept drifting fine snow onto my flood creating crunchy slush which ruined my rink. I was annoyed but happy to at least learn something. I kept it simple. Once the rink was scraped off well. i drilled holes in the corners and proceeded to "pump" the auger flooding the rink. I then had my buddys push the water using shovels out away as far as you possible could. This simply caused all of the ice to get wet, but not really have standing water. any deeper ruts were typically difficult to scrape clean and the snow that collected in them got saturated and basically filled themselves in. The system was working beautifully until the wind had other ideas. We did have one maybe 10x10 section of ice that the snow wasnt blowing on and it was beautiful. we scraped some of the slush off too and still tried to skate for about a half hour out in the wind storm. If you stood still the wind would push you across the entire rink! A lesson for me though that now I know how to build a rink whenever I want even if the ice isnt perfect. As long as the wind is down and the air is cold!

  9. I've heard of this quite a few times over the years. Not a Ford thing.

  10. In my experience good and cheap aren't words that are used in the same sentence when it comes to vehicles. A buddy buys what he thinks is good for cheap and is constantly working on them to keep it on the road, especially 4X4's and AWD. What's well under 10K? $5000.00?
