Boat Trailer Banjo Bolt

Hey Guys,

my trailer's brakes have been on the fritz for a couple of years and Ive finally figured out that ive got a leaky banjo bolt on the drivers side. Heres the problem...I look up banjo bolts and sure enough they come in all shapes and sizes. Unfortunately Stratos is out of business so no help there at all.

I of course could take my trailer to a trailer shop, and then pay someone a bunch of money to replace a banjo bolt, but money is tight, Id like to avoid paying someone $100 to replace a essentially what is a screw for me.

Theres a guy known around my bass club named Manny Oliviera that ran a shop called Brampton Truck and Trailer, he used to work on a lot of boat trailers etc, but seemingly his business is no longer called that. 

 

Anyone know where manny is these days? Any other Ideas? Maybe you have had a good experience with a trailer shop for your boat? Someone that would be willing to help me figure out what bolt i need and send me on my way?

This banjo bolt can't be that rare.  I'm guessing it's widely available.

Could you not just remove the old bolt and bring it into a hardware specialty store?

this is one of the problems...who carries trailer brake parts up here? Do you think bolts plus would? 

This is why i posted here, maybe someone has some experience dealing with this, or at least has a connection to someone that can source parts easily? I cant be the only guy on a fishing forum that works on his own trailer/has maintained trailer brakes?

I obviously could take my entire boat and trailer into a shop, but I already know whats wrong, and I already know how to service the brakes, i dont need someone to work on them, all i need is access to the applicable parts.

Is Brampton Truck and Trailer not around anymore? i saw Manny last spring there.. I can dig up his number from a friend if ya want?

My understanding is that he is indeed still there but the issue is the company name has changed and as such it’s impossible to find out where he is/his contact information now.

if you know how to reach manny id greatly appreciate the link to him.

oooo, this might narrow the search significantly. Need to pull mine.

Pull the bolt out so you know what you're looking for.  Trust me it's not going to be anything special because it's on a trailer.
