Hoppy Posted May 21, 2023 Report Posted May 21, 2023 (edited) Just heard of Wil Wegman passing. Sure will be missed. Rest in peace. Edited May 22, 2023 by Hoppy Spelling
Britton Grant Posted May 22, 2023 Report Posted May 22, 2023 I met Will a long time ago at Erieau just outside Chatham on Lake Erie. He was there to fish with Bob Izumi and his brother Wayne. They were born in Blenheim. He was a nice guy/ Very friendly! 1
misfish Posted May 22, 2023 Report Posted May 22, 2023 This is a very sad and great lose to the Simcoe fishery. Wil did so much for it. 1 hour ago, Britton Grant said: He was a nice guy/ Very friendly! He was the kind of guy that would talk to anyone. It was like you were long time friends ,even if you never met him before. RIP Wil 2
ketchenany Posted May 22, 2023 Report Posted May 22, 2023 In early 2000s I was working on a Fishing Ontario Tourism publication with John Kerr and we exchanged many emails for his input. My cousin was his assistant at the Aurora Ministry office. Very pleasant man to deal with. 2
GBW Posted May 22, 2023 Report Posted May 22, 2023 A quiet icon in ways but well heard. RIP, he WILL be missed! 2
Rattletrap2 Posted May 25, 2023 Report Posted May 25, 2023 I never met the man, but read lots of articles over the years about all the good things he did for the fisheries. Does anyone know what happened? i had heard he was in good health up until his passing, or at least appeared to be?
Britton Grant Posted May 25, 2023 Report Posted May 25, 2023 I looked up his obituary and it looks like he is to be buried in Bradford. Ont. Donations are to Cancer Society so that must be what happened.
