Varadero Fishing?

Booked a week down there mid January. 

Anybody know of any shore fishing around there or if off shore charters are worth it?

There is the beach,  we tried it and got nothing, waded way out and still nothing. I got a bunch of small guys hand  lining. Across the street on the water break across the highway. It was fun but they were small fish. There is a public dick that is incredibly slippery and I got another unknown fish

Varadero, not the place to go to try fishing down south. Protein is at a premium in Cuba...all fish caught are consumed by locals.
