ketchenany Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 Anyone on the board install aluminum railings in the GTA Or had them done?
leaf4 Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 Neighbour at my parents had them done, very nice product. I was looking at doing them but they were a bit out of the price range for me going on a porch that sees 0 use lol
irishfield Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) Went through this for the lake A... Looked at every brand, how they were made and in the end ProBuilt's system won. As far as I'm concerned it's the best one out there and as a neighbour found out after getting other systems quoted... it's cheaper in $$'s as well. Anyone with some ability and a trim saw can put it together in short order. Posts in place and measure the distance between.... measure three times, cut once on the aluminum. Regular wood cutting blade in the miter saw works perfect on aluminum.. without any damage. Just take your deck measurements to a dealer and the computer lays out the order sheet. Even Moosebunk approves... Edited June 2, 2015 by irishfield
lew Posted June 2, 2015 Report Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) I had aluminum rails with glass panels installed on the front porch of the house but had a contractor do it just because it had to be drilled into concrete. But it's very simple to do yourself if your going into a normal wooden deck and as mentioned just be sure of your measurements before you do any cutting and your done in a couple days. Stain the deck, add in a couple canopies and some wicker furniture and your all set for a summer of laying back enjoying life Edited June 2, 2015 by lew
