theduster23 Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Am looking to find a spot to camp / fish where I can bring my boat (40hp). I would be tenting it but would like to bring my 15ft aluminum for fishing as well. So far the front runner is Massassauga Provincial Park. Any suggestions?Pretty wide open on species. I prefer Walleye or bass personally. Thanks
theduster23 Posted May 13, 2015 Author Report Posted May 13, 2015 Also, I am coming up from Hamilton so would prefer <5 hour drive.

theduster23 Posted May 13, 2015 Author Report Posted May 13, 2015 Ivanhoe seems a bit far (10hrs).... I'll keep it in mind for a different trip though.
John Bacon Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Algonquin allows boats on Lake Opeogno. Motor boats are allowed on some other lakes too; but some of them may have horsepower limits.
OhioFisherman Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 http://www.ontarioparks.com/park/sturgeonbay Lots of sheltered water for a smaller boat?
bow slayer Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 as I mentioned on another site Restoule PP. Great park, great water sites, great fishing for walleye, bass, musky, pike and lake trout, hiking trails, very little pressure, back lakes and North Bay only 40 minutes away.If you need any other info on the park ,fishing and suggestions for which sites are best just ask.
irishfield Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 (edited) You can make Temagami in 5 hours... camp for free on one of the many crown land campsites and if needed slip over to the PPark and use the comfort station for free, just like half the cottagers do that don't have showers! Launch for free, park for free, camp for free.. leaves enough money to cover the gas there and back, AND your Beer! Edited May 14, 2015 by irishfield
