misfish Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 Played around with different settings. Click here, turn here. I no camera geek.LOL Are these sand pipers?
Rodbender Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) Keep Playing with the camera (get it off auto)I usually use shutter priority or full manual for static birds I use F stop I like and shutter speed of 640 and up BIF shutter speed of 1600 and up my camera doesn't like high ISO so I set it to ISO max 800 on auto ISO think the sandpipers are Lesser Yellowlegs but I'm no expert on shore birds Edited September 20, 2014 by Rodbender
misfish Posted September 20, 2014 Author Report Posted September 20, 2014 The first 5 were on auto. The rest I put on custom. I took like 60 shots on different settings. I deleted over 60%. I need to bring a pad to write on and write what settings I used for each pic. Lesser Yellowlegs Thanks. I was driving bye and seen them in a water sand pit. Stopped and clicked a few pics. Not sure the guy behind me was happy.LOL
Rodbender Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 You can see in the last three the eye focus is way better and clarity too
Rodbender Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) I'll play that game your focus point was on the back of the duck Edited September 20, 2014 by Rodbender
BillM Posted September 21, 2014 Report Posted September 21, 2014 Make sure the focus point is on the eye if possible, after that it doesn't matter if 50% of the bird is out of focus, the picture can still work. Easier said then done though!
