Using satellite photos and computerized mapping technologies, an international research team counted all of the lakes on Earth. They found about 117 million lakes, covering almost four percent of the world’s land surface, not counting the glaciers on Greenland and Antarctica, according to a new study. It is the first time the world’s lakes have been counted using a reliable method, the study claims. I always fish new water every year last summer I fished 13 different lakes and this year so far I have done 4 all in the quest to constantly learn new water !!! But with a number like that I see I have a few more to go !!! Lol .... Keep calm & keep fishing !!!

singingdog Posted September 17, 2014 Report Posted September 17, 2014 Yep, it could make your head spin. A rough count tells me there are about 50 lakes within 1 hour of my house, and I am still trying to figure out a couple of them.
