grt1 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Last August I bought a new truck, dodge ram 1500 with a crew cab. I purposely didn't get a cap as I wanted to be able to put my quad in the box. Now I need to get some ramps to get the quad in the box. a neighbour has told me that the folding ramps were useless and to stay away from them. I would like the opinions of those of you out there that have ramps as to what I should get.
Fisherman Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 I would go with the tri fold ones, the long skinny ones that fold in half would make me nervous too.
vance Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 I have 2 kinds of ramps, the 2 piece folding which I hate and the 1 piece trifold which i love. The biggest thing about either is that the ramps will move out from under the tailgate as you load or unload,I solved this by bolting chains on to the ramp and with a quick release attached them to the cargo tie down in the back of the truck and no more worries. vance
Sinker Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Whatever ramps you get make sure you strap them to the truck when loading/unloading. The ones I use are one piece. S.

4x4bassin Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 I have one piece aluminum ramps and they have a bit of an angle to them so the bike levels out when entering the bed of the truck , works great . Can't remember who makes them but I got them at TSC and they always go on sale there so have an eye out !
