chris.brock Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 I did a little exploratory work to check out a couple lakes. Here's the tools of the trade My main destination lake, the trail deteriorated quickly, I thought this is good, not a lot of people getting in, got too nasty with too many blow downs, and I had to turn back there was more of this than any signs of people I mentioned to the owner of the local bait store that I had tried to get to this lake, he said "oh yeah, great brookie fishing eh?" -I couldn't make it, how did you guys get in? "we went in from, uh, well, I can't remember" (I don't blame him at all) "there's a big grow-op in there too, you could easily get shot or killed sniffing around there, been there for years" I guess I'll try again in the winter on the sled damn walleye! here's my Dad in his element we used to fish here a lot, 25+ years ago, a lot of great memories, things have changed since then, more pressure and far less angler etiquette a laker on the spoon
Gnote Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Ive done some bushwackin with my little ranger Gets pretty interesting, nice try
can u fish Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Hey Chris always carry a small chainsaw when heading into those secret back lakes.
limeyangler Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 nice pic of your Dad. I need to get a 4x4 to haul small boats into lakes.
Moosebunk Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 A days quadin' around and exploring can be just as welcome as a days fishing sometimes. Cool effort Chris... but maybe stay outta there in future, at least until after a few frosts have come and gone.
pidge Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 Nice setup you've got there. My trucks my "quad" for now in those kinda places. If your down for a secret lake spot trade let me know. Just sayin. Not offended if you do y wana.
wormdunker Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 Yup x2 - always carry a small chainsaw on those trips. I even have a small buck saw with me at all times, in case the Husky doesn't want to start.
4x4bassin Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 Love the effort on that trail .X3, on the chainsaw or a quad with a winch . Heading to one of those back lakes this weekend for the end of trout season . Hope it doesn't look like your trail !
