Freshtrax Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 gonna a be headed there this weekend for A "hike" with the gf. and dog and fishing pole lol. with the crappy weather forcasted i gave up on camping. i have done a little digging and found mixed reports on the regs some say its all c and r no barbs single hook. others say those dont apply while in the conservation area. anyone here know for shure. the regs are hard to read on that section of the river without knowlage of local landmarks... any baitshops in that area i could consult...thanks in advance
jediangler Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 If you are in the conservation area those special regs don't apply. You can use live bait and you can use multiple hooks with barbs.
Pigeontroller Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Be careful, might be more water there than you're expecting. I just checked the gauge, flow in the gorge is about 45 cubic metres per second...Typical summer flows are about 4 CMS...
Marko Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Went there yesterday and i have never seen it that high. Girl told me it was 49 CMS.....it did drop some overnight though You wont be able to fish today and tomorrow is a big question mark as well. Assuming of course we don't get anymore rain..
Freshtrax Posted May 21, 2011 Author Report Posted May 21, 2011 my girl has never bin before so its more for the hike and the scenery.....and the dog needs some exercise if i dont catch a fish i dont catch a fish im not too worried....thanks for the info its much appreceated.
Musky or Specks Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 at 45 cms there might not be a gorge just a river
Pigeontroller Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 My favourite level was around 70 CMS when I Kayaked...Some friends would paddle it at flows up to 200 CMS!!!
irishfield Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 (edited) I think Freshtax was just trying to live up to his name and just wanted to go for a walk in the bush! Edited May 21, 2011 by irishfield
