dave524 Posted March 30 Report Posted March 30 Happy 80th to just about my favourite artist doing what he does best, blues
smitty55 Posted March 30 Report Posted March 30 Couldn't agree more about Clapton, if I could only ever listen to one artist for the rest of my life it would be him hands down. 1

Nobody had a voice like Howling Wolf, a king of the blues. Edited July 10 by Essox 2
Spiel Posted July 13 Report Posted July 13 Starting my Sunday straight out of the gate with rocking good tunes!!!!!!! 2
CrowMan Posted August 19 Report Posted August 19 (edited) My bride of 41 years and I are going to see Neil Young tonight at the Budweiser Stage. The first time we saw him was at ML Gardens in 1983, when we were still dating. "Harvest Moon" was the song for the father/daughter dance when my daughter got married 10 years ago. Always makes me warm and fuzzy... Edited August 19 by CrowMan
smitty55 Posted August 23 Report Posted August 23 About a month ago I came across a tune that really grabbed my attention with the excellent sax and lead guitar playing. Candy Dulfer is absolutely the best female sax player in the world and one of the best period. She has performed and recorded with her dad Hans, Prince, Dave Stewart, Van Morrison, Angie Stone, Maceo Parker and Rick Braun and has performed live with Alan Parsons (1995), Pink Floyd (1990), and Tower of Power (2014). She is Dutch and all the musicians that play with her are top notch with Ulco Bed really standing out on guitar. Here's one sample of one of her big hits called Lily was Here that's preformed with Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics and another tune called Lost and Gone that features Ulco Bed. They play great Soul, Funk and some Jazz with some great covers of many tunes like Pick up the Pieces from Average White Band. I'm at the point now where I'm listening to at least 10 hours of this great music a week. Enjoy these tunes. 1
Spiel Posted September 10 Report Posted September 10 I need another night out with....TOOL..... "With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds And open wide to suck it in. I feel it move across my skin."

Never heard them before, not really my style of music anymore but not too bad. Reminds me somewhat of Black Sabbath. 1

Never heard of them, wow, they're definitely not new Smitty, they've been highly relevant for 35 years. They formed way back in 1990. Truly one of my favourite bands, ever.

I've probably heard them on the radio not knowing the name of the band or else I just plain don't recall. 1

Spiel Posted September 25 Report Posted September 25 For me, being my first concert ever way back when for the Tormato Tour, (in TO) it never gets old! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n24-5tD8zwc&list=RDGMEMJQXQAmqrnmK1SEjY_rKBGA&start_radio=1&rv=tZCpOu7YOrk

First time I saw them in Ottawa along with Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper July 19 1971 for me they stole the show even though they were the least known of the three at the time. I had 4 of their albums and would have to say they really got me into the British progressive rock scene. Even bought the Rick Wakeman Six Wives of Henry VIII and Journey to the Center of the Earth albums. My wife was an opera singer and professional voice teacher and she was pretty impressed with Jon Anderson's singing voice when I got her to listen to Yes. Here's the set list. https://www.concertarchives.org/concerts/black-sabbath-alice-cooper-yes--5891023 1
