either they were flying fish.. perched in trees.. or they were amongst the cover which happen to be lay down trees.

We were casting deep into the fallen trees along the shoreline....15' to 20' of water under the trees .

 

 

The trout would come up an ABSOLUTELY smash the Black Mepps ..

shorelines look exactly like our speckle lakes around here, we always get our biggest in the wood, lose alot of lures, but worth it
