youngvedder Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 Headed up north for the weekend (espanola area) to spend a little time fishing and searching around with the 565 humminbird. hit one lake and there was alot of grouping fish around the 65 fow depth, and then hit the deepest lake in our area and came across this group. started around 190 fow and went down to 208 fow. are these lakers? whitefish. we dropped our lines down with jigs, then worms, then trout bate and got no interest. any thoughts? Thanks! Yv
youngvedder Posted May 20, 2009 Author Report Posted May 20, 2009 hmm, interesting. any thoughts what would cause it? it was really this particular area that outlined these "fish" it was right around a drop off, and cound not see it outside of this area. since I am new to the finder, why would I not want the fish ID on? bad readings? thx! Yv
Spiel Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 I would do three things, turn off the fish I.D. mode, read the owners manual and then bone up on using and interpreting sonar images.
c10 Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 It could just be some interference, some depth finders aren't meant to go that deep. But yea turn off the fish I.D and turn off the whole thing, sometimes you'll just get bad readings... sometimes you wont mark anything lol
