lickmyarmpit Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Im heading out for some fishing on a local lake was down there yesterday about 4-6 inches of ice. Lotsa fellas out on sleds, landed a nice large mouth yesterday first time for everything i guess bringing the camera today hopefully have some pics for you all later on in the day. im out

steverowbotham Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 I've caught both smallmouth and largemouth through the ice. Last year I got a 16 inch largemouth on the first weekend in March, got it on a live minnow while fishing for pike. The next day, while fishing for perch on Simcoe, in 39 fow, I hooked what I thought was a whitefish, but ended up being a 19.5 inch smallmouth. Got her on a 1/32 oz teardrop and maggots.
