TroutnMuskieHunter Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 (edited) I was out hunting Muskies the other day when all of a sudden a huge storm came through the area and caught me off gaurd....The winds were so strong that it whipped open the top of my Plano Big Bait tackle box and actually snapped it off right above the hinges....I contacted Plano customer service in Illinois via e-mail with a few pictures just to see what they would say and was told not to worry, a replacement cover will be sent out for delivery tomorrow. ....no questions asked other than "what's your address and daytime contact ph# sir??" Now that's what I call service and backing your product up!! .....I also have a Plano Guide Series hard box and Soft Side box....needless to say, that I will continue to buy Plano products in the future! Here's some pics of the damage... Edited August 11, 2008 by TroutnMuskieHunter
MCTFisher9120 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 I think every tackle box i have had to date has been Plano. My rod case is also Plano and it is good to know that if something was to go wrong there is good strong customer service to back it up.
ccmtcanada Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Always great to hear about great customer service! There are enough bad stories going around, that these posts are refreshing.
BillM Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Any chance you have the model # of that box? I need something to put my muskie lures in.... keeping them in a big cardboard box is getting a bit old
Rattletrap2 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Troutandmuskiehunt, That is good customer service and product support. Nice to know some companies still provide this. As a side note, it does look like the sun has done a number on your box. The blue is all faded out and turned white.
tibbs Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 It's always great to know what company's stand behind there product!
TroutnMuskieHunter Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 BillM ....it's a great box....it's Model# 7915...Le Baron sells them for $52.94...it can hold up to 40 12" baits.... Rattletrap2 ...you're observations are good as this box has seen many hours of sunshine...(maybe not this year though as it seems to be cloudy and rainy everyday ).....I have a feeling that the plastic became brittle from sun damage, but hey, I sent the pics to Plano, and they didn't even question the condition or fading of the box....
Billy Bob Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 YEP, You can't beat Plano with a Ugly Stick Don't know if they are still made in Plano, Texas but they guarantee their products for LIFE. They don't advertise that but it's true.
