I remember when they were calling their signal HDTV and it stood for HIGHER definition TV....what scammers. HDTV from Rogers or Bell costs an arm and a leg! If it fits you I think OTA is the way to go....spend $300 on 2 antennas and get FREE uncompromised HDTV. What do I mean my uncompromized.....some TV delivery services are compressing their signals so they can deliver more channels...that translates to low quality HDTV (its not HDTV anymore). It is understood the Proton's Breeze-M upper-stage failed to operate properly. aniceguy Posted April 5, 2008 Report Share Posted April 5, 2008 what ever happened to the good ole days when cable was a box with 2 levels of buttons and a cable connecting it to the TV and man if you went past 30 you had it all.......545 channels of repeatative fluff these days Thast being said I have a 56 Sony bravia and find its picture quality pretty good...when I add the true HD signal not much better then that....Just remember to budget an additional 150 plus for the upgraded cables. The first channel to have OTA will probably be the VR too... I think Bell is launching the new sats for two reasons.... one is to save face... two I am sure is to add some more HD content... however that said, right now there are only so many channel broadcast in HD... I think once the SD format is gone.. that leaves bell with 4 sats capable of broadcasting in HD but for now 3 will be able to handle all their bandwidth needs just fine... Things will work out for the best... Besides.. they have to... there is a new beast on the horizon..... and that is Fibre I am not seeing anything for Barrie that is OTA... but I only did a quick 10 minute search... but everything for the Golden Horse is good.. bigfish1965 Posted April 5, 2008 Report Share Posted April 5, 2008 I was out TV shopping the other day and was BLOWN AWAY by the Samsung LCD...no motion blur and an amazing picture. It had a much better pic than the others that cost way more. I beleive there is a law in the US that ALL TV stations must go digital/HD by the end of this year. And yes, Bell sucks monkey butts.
