good prices at that link above.... but selection isn't that great....at least for treble hooks...no owner or gammy's.
-
if you change hooks on crankbaits, you go through them quickly. I picked up 60 packs of 11 in March of this year and at last check I have three packs left. two and three hooks per lure makes for fast use of the hooks. however, once they are changed, they last of course.

that is a great price Roy! I get the 2x strong #4 rb hooks at $6 for a pack of 11. but that's $540 for 1000. is your supplier a public one (pm maybe)?

creditmaster, if this is the reason you don't have a dog, that is rather unfortunate.

FYI. A close friend of mine works in the sports department in a local walmart (here in Hamilton). They received a special email this morning advising the stores NOT to match this product as it was not the intention of Walmart to do so. They even provided a customer service number for customers to call if they wish to make a complaint. I'm thinking the power of this web board made walmart doing some back peddling. -
Tim, you note a very good point. Joc will endorse what he buys in bulk...often at dirt cheap prices because the product isn't selling, and Joc is willing to buy "the entire stock"....as he did with the Rapala....then magically it becomes "new and improved". Joc is the single best fishing salesman in Canada.....sometimes he sells you a quality product, other times he points you to a product he's selling cheap (which means he purchased the lot .... and likely the reason he was able to was due to slow sales).

correct me if I'm wrong but the Atlantics we have aren't native either, because the Atlantics we are stocking are not from native brood stock? I believe the Atlantics are from a non native strain? -
i'd stay away.

i read that article and found it amusing that they rank Phoenix Coyotes as the top NHL franchise. that's just as funny as labeling Toronto the worst. clearly silly.

Rodel used to post on here, and did post two 50" kawartha muskies. http://www.kawarthakingmuskie.com/Media.html

Dave can be a strange guy. they are still open, I believe. keep at 'er.

put all six guys in the boat, lol. four inline boards and two long lines. that's how you cover water and figure out the bite.... gawd I love trolling
-
anytime I catch "daytime" walleye its in thick(er) weeds. but your lake doesn't have any....so.... the troller in me says take some 20' to 30' diving lures (tail dancers, trolls to's, crystal minnows, etc) and cover some deep water in the vicinity of where you have already located them.

Andrew, this report had a sense of realism to it. I truly enjoyed it. A very good read.

I took Hirk up on his generous offer posted here on OFC to fish with him today. I had never been there, but have always wanted to fish that lake. We launched for 8am and noticed water temps at 58 degrees!!! Holy heck. Starting at a spot not far from the launch we noticed hundreds of shiners breaking the surface all over the place...but strangely enough, there weren't any fish busting on them. We continued and it started to rain.I'm not sure what the air temp was, but we could see our breath. We were working milfoil edges that broke into 6' to 8' of water. Winds started to pick up...We moved to a rocky shoal that extended from an island with deep water on both sides...milfoil patches throughout. Very Sexy!! Well, the sexy produced a sexy bass!!! We fished well into the afternoon...and picked away at fish here and there. Hirk caught a fat beautiful smallie which provided a great aerial display. We called it a day around 5pm. I can't say enough how enjoyable the day was. Glad I noticed the invite - great way to spend a day. Wishing you luck in your tourney tomorrow Hirk! Thanks again.

we have always done well on the windblown side of trident point for smallies...sometimes as far out as the marker bouy. in front of the cement plant, in picton bay, also has some great smallie fishing off the humps...we mark them when walleye fishing in the winter and hit them in the late summer...jerk baits mostly. it's been a couple years since we did it...but those spots generally produced decent smallies. Oh, on a walleye jigging trip with the G2 boys, we caught some nice smallies off green point on long reach...berkley gulp on jigheads for those.

see ya in the AM!

i do believe ohio is further south than southern ontario. it appears they are allowed there.

Jer, it's only in the title. no one really weighs in any walleye. edit: i see the previous years are posted. You can see what I mean.
