  1. Just realized that I don't have a good pic of my boat. Most of the time is spent in a 18.5 Sea Swirl powered up with a 175 Evinrude. Been a great boat for me. Takes the Nipissing waves very well and NO CARPETS!!! Rinse the worm guts down and away we go again to see if we can catch a pickerel..
  2. Sorry Jed. Can't agree with that. The sun is at it's highest point that time of the year and the shade effect would be so minuscule it would not make a difference.
  3. Gerritt, I prefer the Danforth style of anchor. I have found its not the weight of the anchor but the way it holds to the bottom. Haven't lost one yet but have almost given up a couple times. Weight anchors are ok in less windy conditions but geez......you gotta pull it up. Get lots of rope and you can use it to cover a large area without pulling up anchor- if you throw well up wind of the spot you are trying to cover.
  4. Rockets. The other end of Nipissing can be a good choice too. Sheltered fishing in high winds or nasty days among the many islands. Pickerel, bass, pike, perch, muskie .........well just about everything except trout/salmon. This is the area of the lake that I hang out. The first place that comes to mind for a place if you are bringing the kids along is Promised Land Camp. I see he has an ad running on here too. Has a playground and a nice beach with water tubes and slides. He runs a nice place, I don't believe you would be disappointed. There are a few other nice places as well and if you need advice on this area give me a PM.
  5. Being an occasional rider myself it only makes good sense to wear the skid lid. I don't always agree with many laws in the books but this is a good one. Religious or not you gotta wear em'.
  6. Welcome to the board Muskiemike. Nipissing has a few dandy muskie in it too.
  7. I will put out the welcome mat once again.
  8. Have done that. Only in a shallow bay though. Was a few years ago. Not much different than powder snow. I think I was on a MXZ 600 at the time. Really don't need a special track, although I hear the powder tracks work very well. Keep the power to it and away you go. YAHOOOOOOO .
  9. Hey Joey. Great going!! Good to see you win it.
  10. Glad you are OK Cliff. I hope they can fix up your Astro. It may be hard to find another good one. Too bad they quit making them. They were a pretty good multi-purpose vehicle. Ooops. Reread your post. It wasn't YOUR Astro van. What were you driving?
  11. Part of my daily commute in open water season is 6 miles of boat travel. It's going to hurt . I'm glad my engine is fuel efficient. Will likely be half throttle in the travels now.
  12. You are going to fit right in here.
  13. Good stuff Mike . Glad to see happy endings.
  14. On Lady Walleyes recent post on catching whitefish the thought occurred to me. Why didn't Italo approach her and include her in the show? Now stuff like that is important. It could broaden the base of viewers. Local fishermen can and do outfish the TV guys on their home lakes. Always wondered why they don't do that more often, locals could add their own ways and techniques. I suppose the sponsor of the show may not like it if a competitors brand shows up but would it always be necessary to show the bait/lure?
  15. I was the guy in the next stall.
  16. Hometown. I guess Maureen wont be needing it. Next time I go out to the cottage I will try to locate where I put it. Its an old one but it still worked. Do you ever come up this way? If not we will figure a way to get it there if you want it.
  17. This is currently the picture on my desktop. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Soon I hope.
  18. Hmmmm...Richard or Brad or John or Sid or Tony or Heath or............Ha Ha Been dealing at that store for over 20 years Randy. Started out yakking with Frank and Kevin (when he was still there). Probably get at least 70% of my parts from Bensons now.
  19. Hey Randy. I was talking to one of your workmates at the North Bay store and he was telling me a few stories about you. I'm not sure you would fit in at Lakair
  20. Maureen. What type of sounder is it? I may have a couple of them kicking around here that may match. If not I have a complete Hummingbird outfit that still works.
  21. Ha Ha HA. I REFUSE TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY!!! You have more there than we do here.
  22. Hey Joey way to go! Bare handing a fish? Is that legal? Looked like a great day to be out on the lake!
  23. Hello Brian. I don't think too many here have fished the Bay lately. I fish the south end of the lake but usually in the summer. I have heard of a few guys starting to catch them again. But it has been really slow on the lake.
  24. I wish I had thought of it. Could take the summer off for the next ten years from the money it would make.
  25. Attaboy Kevin!!!
