Looks like a great way to pass a day Wayne. Better than sitting on yer butt. Went with my cousin Jim today to remove a large poplar that the beavers had chewed(likely before freeze up) and toppled over on the roof of his cottage. Caused quite a bit of damage. Figure it will be well over 10K. A rafter split but held. After a quickkie patch over several holes branches had put through we headed over to my place. Patched up a broken window. Wind and nature is hard on places out there.

Didn't notice how old or hours. Seems like too much though. Price of boats has dropped over the last few months. Can buy a new Crestliner similar boat and engine size and trailer for less than 10k now.

They are terrorizing Nipissing too. Never seen them on the lake before 15 years ago. Even my father who is 75 never seen them on the lake as a child. Why are they there now? Good question. They are slowly taking over the islands known as Gull Islands. Wonder what ever happened to the die off of them 3 years ago on the Manitou Island. They said at the time it was disease but why were the nearby islands not affected? I suspect they were poisoned. They should do it to some more areas. Strange they dont hang around my place too much .

It would take a lot more information than one line to form an opinion Vanselena. Are you going to get any manufacturer support? Is it a quality product at the right price? Will they stand behind warrantys? The list is a mile long. You need to know the answers before you get your feet wet.

One of the local fish hut operators nearby had his house struck by lightning couple weeks ago. Burned to the ground. Some of you maybe know Mel McCabe. It was lightning storm that rivaled a strong storm in the summer, very unusual.

Prefer using the ramps over pulling a trailer. My ATV/sled stays out of the road grime and no hassles pulling a trailer. I know how Terry feels about the falling off thing but with a good set of safety chains on the ramp going up and down them a few times you will soon see how easy it becomes. We have modified an old aluminum ramp to accept a sled with carbide runners as well as an ATV. Its so old I couldn't tell you what make it is. Get one as long as you can that will still fit inside your pickup box with the tailgate closed. The longer it is the less angle you will have.

21 Years ago in the wee hours of a very cold morning my son was born, my mother was returning from the hospital to home. In our small town she came across two guys not dressed for the weather a block from her home. She did not know who they were but stopped and asked them if they were ok. They said they were hitchhiking to Timmins and were dropped off at Powassan. Well at that time of morning NOTHING is open,not even the police station. She could tell they needed help. She told them to get in the car and took them home. She fed them and housed them until morning,gave them each a warm coat and away they went. Several weeks later they showed up at her house, thanked her profusely for saving them that morning. They also left a note with a 100 bucks in it without her seeing it (she would not have accepted it had she known). That kind of charity is rare.

I always worried a lot about a moose through my windshield. But a chunk of ice could be deadly too.

At our Lions club we get requests all the time for stuff like this. We have decided in the past no freebies for hockey, scouts, girl guides Etc. We have told the parents of such organizations that if they want some money for their projects that we ask that they help us out on some of our ventures to EARN IT. It has worked out very well indeed. At one of our larger functions the soccer club does dishes and minor hockey serves tables. This way we all benefit. But a straight handout to those that are capable of earning their own funds? No!!!
