  1. Swear this is true- Jurgen Knopf. It was VERY difficult to hold a straight face writing up the workorder. Also a good friend of mine Peter Piper. Also worked with Tom and "Buzz" Sawyer.
  2. It turned out fine. Just one more hint- hit enter in between the pics to space them.
  3. Photobucket will auto resize douG.
  4. It's discrimination against people with large feet. :D
  5. Sign up at www.photobucket.com. Once signed up, you log in. Upload pictures to photobucket. Now once it is uploaded, there are 3 codes for that picture right below. If you want to post it directly to the post on OFC, hilight the tag/code then right click and finally go to your post and right click and paste. If you have more that one picture make sure you put the copied tag/code under each other. If you put the code side by side you will make a mess.
  6. I have both. But if I were to have a choice of one only it would be an ATV. More versatile. And if you get an ATV try to get one that has minimum 500 cc. Just in case you decide to get a set of tracks for it someday. Track technology has improved greatly in the last couple years. They are lighter and roll much easier than past editions. They have redesigned the front track to allow better steering. I have tried several different types in various conditions. Tried a Can-am 650 in 2 ft of snow with the Apache kit last winter and it was amazing. The downside of tracks is the amount of snow that swirls up from them. But I would bet they would compete well with a snowmachine in the deep snow. If you go this route you also have one instead of two machines to maintain.
  7. Long over "perhaps" Bly Ha! "Perhaps" it's like what it says in your signature.
  8. I'd say he hooked it right about here.
  9. Well done you two. Just out of curiosity, what do you do for lighting when you fish at night? Is there enough ambient light ?
  10. Actually ice is predictable Stoty, at least at my area of the lake. Each year the ice begins to form in shallower areas and slower current flows. The pressure crack pops up very close to the same line across the lake. There are the usual spots that the ice does not get as thick as other areas. This is where experience and information comes in. If someone goes through (at least in my neck of the woods) its always in the same spots. I do not recommend people to drive where ever they want because of that. Following a well traveled ice road is beneficial due to no, or well packed snow keeping the snow insulation to a minimum allowing good ice formation.
  11. Ice conditions can change and knowing the lake you are on and keeping track of things like rapid temperature changes you can avoid potential problems. According to some oldtimers very cold temperatures can make the ice brittle so a warmer trend is safer to haul a heavy load. Pressure cracks can form in an instant so it may be good going out but not so good coming back. Keep speeds down, pressure waves can crack ice ahead of you, especially approaching shorelines. The boathouse (18x24) I moved last winter was done on 16" of blue ice. Not sure what the boathouse weighed (let alone the truck) but it made the 1 kilometer drive across the bay. Taking things across to the islands in the winter is often the only feasible way to get large stuff there. I would not recommend anyone drive a vehicle out on ice they do not know conditions of. Talk to local people first and not just one of them. Some think they know but dont.
  12. I don't care for them when fishing either 4reel but as Pick has mentioned they can be an important safety measure.
  13. It's a sad article really Pinch. I hope their plans to clean up are implemented soon.
  14. My dad was out to his place on Nipissing today. There was a 1ft open hole in front of his dock. The heat coming off the logs is beginning to radiate. Your caution is well advised Cliff.
  15. Hi Joe. Not a lot of my customers own these. Mostly Toyota Ravs and Honda CRV's I see in here. I checked on the list of TSB's and the list was average. A few recalls I noticed as well. Give your local Ford dealer a call and ask them to check if they have all been done (have the VIN# ready). In the past I can remember doing a few electrical repairs on these due to bad connections and corrosion issues. The 3.0 engines have been pretty durable in the Taurus/Sable. If there is any info you need give me a PM.
  16. Too bad Italo didn't come by to offer a few fishing tips.
  17. Can you be at the shop tomorrow at 8?
  18. Yes- what Wayne said. Also when greasing don't pump grease into them once the plate reaches the outside contact point. I have seen where guys pump in too much and push out the seal at the other end. Great little device.
  19. Those are terrific little engines Dan.
  20. Bring it by this week and I'll fix it up fer ya. If you need any info Glen let me know. The symptoms of a stuck float needle are there. On 4 carb setups there can be some fine adjustments required on reassembly to resync.
  21. Are you sure Bly didn't catch it and felt sorry for you? Nice fish Cliff
  22. I write our local Lions bulletin. Does that count?
  23. Way to go Carole!!!! I guess there isn't much point in asking how Cliff did?
