Wow, i got super tired just reading this!
Better than any fishing magazine story and very well written.
Information can be gleaned if anyone wants to try and duplicate this
Unbelievable report
Thanks
The doctors should know what happened and help out, good to see your OK and getting it looked at further.
These fire ants are infesting the shoreline, spits, wooded ravines and islands here in T.O.
Go off the paved path and near trees and they get ya.
If your not into portaging but want to relax and catch fish (bass) i would recommend going to Booth Lake or Smoke Lake/Ragged/South Porcupine. Caught smallies non-stop at these places and even the odd brookie or small laker unintentionally. Brought girlfriends to these places in the past and they did the short 1 or 2 portages involved without complaining. The fishing was great in these spots as well the GF's were happy.
Cool pic of the gar! Quinte can produce interesting catches, once caught a gar on a jigging rap while ice fishing. You never know there, could be musky, pike, sheepshead, bass, rainbow, brown, mudpuppy etc...
Just commenting that surely that musky is 43 in., often people will claim larger sizes for smaller muskies.
A couple of nicer muskies i caught last few years were 43 inches as well and look a little different.
Pigeon Lake open water ski's
43 inch is a good number
The lake looks good, i was thinking of going back in the fall. Had a CO stop by us to check licenses etc...he said muskies really are on in fall and are pretty big. CO pulled 3 other boats off of lake for whatever reason.
Used your tips on area, thanks will do even better next time.
Thanks Jacques, we were expecting better results but just happy to be fishing.
Ya, have caught walleye before on spinnerbaits but this one was under dock right by the shoreline.
I think you know this lake, lol. Fishing shut down after lunch hour and picked up a little later.
Certainly didn't slay them but first time there. Weird little lake! In afternoon tried microtube/float setup
for panfish and caught none. Is their panfish here?
That is one of spinnerbaits i got from you, and rod/reel combo. Cheers, Dax
Thanks for replies!
Haven't fished since May 1st when i caught small pike at Dalrymple. Can't fish alone because of chronic disability (MS), so have to wait for my helpful buddy to have free time.
Finally was able to go yesterday and tried new lake to us.
It was okay and we caught some fish, it was nice to get out of city, relax and throw spinnerbaits and topwaters.
Caught some smallies this way all between 1-2 lbs.
Most were about this size.
First fish of the day was this walleye caught on similar spinnerbait in 2 ft. of water.
A real unexpected catch.
Nice to get out fishing and try new lake, didn't even wreck prop on this hyped lake.
Great day of musky fishing!
Sorry to hear of your mother-in-law, fishing is the best way to get away and de-stress.
All the best to you and your family.
You don't need to go overseas to market them, just commercially fish them for cat food.
Not even closely related to the common carp around here. They aren't bottom feeders.
Some resouceful Americans already found some solutions outlined on this link.

There was 2 of these carp found in Lake Erie.....over 10 yrs ago however.
They are algae sifters or vegetarians so they won't compete directly with esteemed sportfish.
It probably is a Great Egret. Have seen them a couple of times on the Humber around Old Mill.
Think that they are coming northward like Turkey vultures and Cardinals did in the past.
Pic of one near Old Mill...
Just outside in T.O here and lightening is in the skies. Apparently tornado warnings around L.Huron etc...
Looks like thunderstorms across south cenral ontario are supposed to be severe overnight. Lots of lightening from Barrie south towards Toronto, so take care.
