  1. I've never seen so little fishing reports, in the few years i've seen this board, as there is on this first page today. Must be the weather this weekend and the closing of fishing on most lakes around the province. Not to worry though there is more BOQ to go and once ice is on Simcoe there will be many, many perch reports cheers, ehg
  2. Thanks for replies! Didn't want to waste my time trolling x-raps if they were really made for casting. Sounds like they could work with the braided line setup i wanna use for slow long line trolling night walleyes. Gives me a bit of confidence for 'em. cheers, ehg
  3. I've casted the x- raps for pike and smallies with success, but it seemed like i had to provide action to the lure through glides or twitches. Just wondering if anyone has flatline trolled them, where the x-rap provided its own action, successfully. Thanx, ehg
  4. As others have stated above set a trial date. You will get a trial date in the mail. Usually it is 7 months to a year from occurence. The cop won't show up. The fine will either be withdrawn or really slashed down. I've done this a few times. Even argued my way out of a photo radar ticket by adamantly insisting it wasn't me but other cars. You have a solid honest reason for speeding and evenually you will pay little and not lose any points. Good luck, ehg
  5. The samething has happened to myself, bigbuck. I went from 220 lbs to 150 lbs in last few years. Never been more active in me life as well. This eye thing might be worse thing to happen but will improve. Thanks for other replies. ehg
  6. Awesome report! Your lucky to have such great fishing so close to a metropolis ( Montreal). good stuff, ehg
  7. Thanks folks, That synopsis may sound worse than it is. Vision problem is temporary, and generally most days i'm painfree and normal with the MS. Just looking forward to next day out fishing. cheers, ehg
  8. One time drove with boat down to Quinte in December when arriving noticed plug came out of boat somewhere, so instead of going home just casted of off 12 o'Clock Point south on Hwy 33 before Trenton. Ended up catching pike and walleye as sun went down using deep diving minnowbaits. Hope this helps, ehg
  9. Posted a few days ago that my my wee daughter hit me in eye causing a substantial loss of vision. I was getting concerned about it so wanted to hear others stories of eye injury. So after the last three days of seeing optometrists and opthamologists, there conclusion is that my daughters blow to my eye has nothing to do with my vision loss. Apparently i have something called optical neuritis. This is related to multiple sclerosis which i have been diagnosed with and dealing with for last 5 years. More MRI's and IV steroids probably in the future. Anyways i probably will get my vision in that eye back eventually. At least all this isn't stopping me from fishing ehg
  10. Wow, you really get around there Bill. Nice bunch of pictures. Those sheepies put up a decent scrap, especially when caught flatlining. Maybe i'll see you out on some lake again, who knows where. The internet makes for a small world... cheers, ehg
  11. 'Mr. Brownstone' by Guns 'n Roses " Use to do a little but a little wouldn't do so a little became more and more. Just keep trying to get a little better Said the little better than before" Kinda how the act of fishing has been for me. ehg
  12. Just a word of caution to anyone thinking of taking a boat out on Lake Ontario at night or mid-winter, it can be very treacherous.Even though there was no wind that night we were still a tad scared out there, even though we have done this well over 50 times. Actually the big lake has quickly blown up in the past and i've never been more scared in my life. Majorlifts now your 'Dude'? That walleye was probably 8 lbs as well, very fat. cheers, ehg
  13. Great report ! Those St. Clair fish are quite unique with them spots. Awesome, ehg
  14. Went to family doctor today, said there is no visible trauma. Referred me to an optometrist who i will see tomorrow. No improvement yet. The posts thus far have been optimistic, no one had permanent damage by the sounds of it. Except for Gerritt's orbital bone. Thanks for PM's of concern, ehg
  15. The white bass fight much like largemouth except they don't jump. Very scrappy. They don't get much bigger in Canada than these ones. Very rare to run into them anyways. Probably my favourite fish next to musky and steelhead. Oddly, i fished same lures, same spots, and caught nada. Strange. ehg
  16. Went out this night with buddy (Majorlifts) to try and find a few walleye like recently reported. He ended up catching a pile of these.. and another one another white bass more at least he caught something different an ugly sheepshead. oh well Finally he caught what we were looking for Personally, i caught nothing despite using same lures, equipment etc.. Dave had a good night. All the white bass were 17 - 19 inches and fat. He caught all fish on silver rattlin rap. Don't see the white bass too often. cheers, ehg
  17. Thanks for quick replies! Wow, seems a little more serious than i thought. When driving home last night i closed the good eye and couldn't see the headlights of oncoming cars, through damaged eye. Not till then did i realize i had blind spot. Looks like i'll go to a doctor ASAP. Wished it was a strike to the nads, save me from the snip operation Thanks again, ehg
  18. Horsing around with my toddler daughter the other day when she went and punched me in the eye (my fault i assume). Didn't think much of it then, however now 5 or 6 days later i find that i have about 50% of the vision now lost in that eye. Before i go see a doctor, just curious if anyone had an eye injury that healed itself or similar experience. Thanks, ehg
  19. Thats an awesome report People spend many thousands of dollars on boats etc... only hoping to get into fish like that. I'd be very careful about revealing that location even through PM's again very amazing, ehg
  20. I'm a chef so i feel comfortable around foodstuff anywhere. Kids and wife like simple food so i'll get it ready fast. Having dates come to my place for a dinner always worked out pretty good as well ehg
  21. Ice fishing at BOQ was my fave through the 90's. The fishing took a bit of a dive around 2001, I've gone once a year since then. Still caught fish however. Emerald shiners on jigging raps or Swedish Pimples were the key. Here is a coupla fish from around 2000 at Long Reach.(scanned) cheers, ehg
  22. Great report and real nice size fish. Like to see the spinner or spoon approach working. excellent, ehg
  23. Had a gull attack my topwater last summer. Didn't get hooked but tangled in the line. Little bugger pecked me a bunch before it was released.
