  1. ....Well I can tell you this Alan, as a life long fly fisherman I won't travel up that way again without my fly rod. The days I spent there I definitely wish I had brought one along and your pictures certainly show me I should have. Hopefully we can toss some big Brookie flies together some day. Cheers and Merry Christmas.
  2. .....Welcome aboard Alan. Being a life long Brookie man I can sure appreciate the beauty of those photos. Also having been up that way fishing last September with Dan it just fuels my desire to get back as soon as possible. Perhaps I'll be fortunate enough to meet you on my next trip.
  3. ....Great looking dog you got there GCD and she's real lucky to have you and the Missus seeing she gets the care she deserves. Good on you both. Merry Christmas.
  4. ....Ah man, I'm so envious. Sounds like a perfect day and I'd have gladly shared it with you if I was closer. I wish it would get cold down here, I'm just gnawing at the bit to get on some ice. Thanks for the teaser Tom, hope I can post some ice reports soon.
  5. ....If it wasn't for gifts "To me, from me" I'd get nothing. I'm a very bad boy.
  6. ....I've fished with you Wayne, what more could you possibly want....lol
  7. ....Right back at you Wally. Now when you going to make good on all those Silver Bullets you owe me.
  8. .....Oh my, this is an easy one. I'd like to fish with everyone here at least once before I die. I've already had the pleasure of numerous trips shared with many good folk from this board and can't think of one I wouldn't fish with again. Mind you I have not shared a boat with many whom I've spent weekends with so I guess I'll need to live to the ripe old age of 372 to fit everyone in. Well a least I have a goal!
  9. ....You're quite likely correct. Rick will have to make the changes on that one. Thanks.
  10. ....A couple of news items from the MNR.
  11. ....and to think I thought this was about Joey driving home from the local pub.
  12. ....I have a lot of money ivested in ice fishing gear and look forward to it's annual arrival. In fact I'll take ice fishing over the dog days of summer fishing anytime, without question. Bring on the ice!
  13. ....I guess not many hunters would want to bag this kind of a trophy.... 7-legged deer killed in FdL County
  14. ....Tiller.... Since I can only afford one boat it'll have to do. I understand you can get tops with full enclosures for tillers. I may look into though I'm quite fond of frostbit cheeks.
  15. ....Fantastic, stellar, amazing and fabulous are a few words that come to mind Peter. Congratulations.
  16. ....Scary? I'm not scary, well maybe a little scared in that boat load....lol But douG, now he's scary. Thanks for the smile guys.
  17. ....Super, I think you've got a hit there Roger. Get ready for the bright lights! Sadly I could only access the MP3 file, I'll try again tomorrow. On the plus side I've added it to my Christmas play list, thanks Roger.
  18. ....Spectacular! Congratulations to you Miss Joey. Odd though, I can't stop thinking I read this somewhere before?
  19. ....Glad to see you got the picture posting thing straightened out Photoz, glad to help. I too remember those photos, still good to see them again, bit of an odd bird though! Welcome to the new board.
  20. ...Should know in a week or two Wayne (I hope?). As for getting out on Cooks for perching, well it's usually my first ice outing. If I'm off I'll likely be there!
  21. ....Yerp, I seen that one a while back Doug, immediately thought....I want one"
  22. ....Small spoons have worked well for me on winter specks, especially the Williams midget. Yes I'd say move shallower, I've taken specks in as little as 18"s of water and wood is a good location anytime. Incoming springs or creeks are another definite zone to be in, just use extreme caution.
  23. ....Is there a room for me?
  24. ....Broken rods, oh it hurts to even think about it! Broke only one and that was the tip of my 13' Loomis float rod some 25 years ago, replaced no questions asked. I might add it was my fault and I told them so, yet they still replaced it.
