  1. I also have Quantum Kinetic PTi Joe and had the same issues with the anti reverse. To be honest it's my fave spinning reel and has served me well, used and abused for years. When the anti reverse went I didn't want to have it collecting dust so I ordered a new anti reverse bearing from Aikmans. Cost was about $18.00 plus shipping and was an easy fix. Reel is as good as new.
  2. Way to go Dawson, you're already a better angler than your Dad. I'm glad you had a great trip Marty and I'm sure Dawson will be talking about it for the next year.
  3. Thanks Paul.
  4. TOAST, IMHO.
  5. I get a few visits a year from Don and Ruth, always welcome and always good company. Are they on they way down for striper fishing Paul? I usually score a fillet or two when they do. Mmmmmm, stripers, nice eating fish.
  6. I've never used top water for night time walleye but I have had great success using 3.5" and 5" Bomber Long A's. A slow and steady retrieve over rock shoals or weed beds was key. Colour was not important.
  7. Exactly, like Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie "Twins."
  8. I can see myself sitting under that having a cold beer.
  9. Not sure if this is the picture you're referring to Dutchy? But if it is, I believe that's 100% Cutthroat.
  10. Do these carp smell like dog urine.......
  11. Good morning all. I just came in from taking Brook for a walk, it is a beauty day. I have work, but it's at home work at my leisure.
  12. The direction is not as important as the wind speed. Even a brisk northerly wind can make it rough if you're far enough off shore.
  13. I love dogs, great companions and there's some beauties here! I think most of these pics of my little girl Brook have been up here at least once but I'll throw them up again. This was her first steelhead venture (November) at 4 months old, covered in mud, burrs and water, stayed with me back and forth across the creek and never balked. Funny now she won't go in the water now. Her first winter at 6 months. Wearing her new life jacket out on the big Lake O. Guarding my gear and staying well back from the creek bank so as not to spook the skiddish browns. And guarding me, well sorta, while I had an afternoon nap at Lakair this past June (photo courtesy of Joey). She just turned 3 a week after this picture.
  14. BRIGHTON, Ont. – The body of a drowned kayaker has been pulled from the waters of Lake Ontario. Northumberland OPP said that three Brighton, Ont., men were kayaking in Presqu’ile Bay around midnight Friday when one of the men fell into the water and didn't resurface. An extensive search was conducted in the area where the 29-year-old fell into the lake. OPP canines, a helicopter from Canadian Forces Base Trenton, locals with boats and police divers were involved in the search effort, which ended Saturday morning when the body was spotted, recovered and transported to the coroner. None of men were wearing lifejackets when the kayaks tipped, police said. Police have not said if alcohol was a factor in the drowning. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday. http://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2010/07/24/14816956.html
  15. I can't begin to fathom the amount of thought put into that comment.
  16. I think I'd want to move too, or at least extend my vacation by several months. Nice report, I hope there'll be more.
  17. Well I'm always happy to hear that Mike. I hear that Fish Farmer gave you a local lead on a rep, I hope that works out for you.
  18. I have no idea Mike, but I am glad it was the reel and not the rod.
  19. Well no wonder you were able to escape with all the commotion in your life of late. You took the whole "Dang" family. Looks like a swell time for all and the new "cabin furniture" looks perfect.
  20. Mmmmm, looks delish. I had a good friend give me his old smoker last week and I'm looking forward to getting back into it after a 20 plus year hiatus. All I need to do now is get some fish.
  21. The "Hook Up" area was intentionally removed. If you're looking for a fishing partner you can post it here.
  22. Roy's B'day, I'll drink to that. Cheers my friend.
  23. LOL....I was thinking the same thing. Nice to see you getting out and about John, always makes for some good reading. Thanks for the thread Ryan.
  24. Well I can't believe you were able to find the time. None the less I'm sure it'll be worth waiting for.
  25. Is this an attempt at offering up an (feeble) excuse for the lack of fishing reports Mike.
