  1. What is this Facebook thing you speak of?
  2. Far too many years back now I was up on Nipigon with DanC, Nita and TEP and the western shoreline was on fire and the water bombers were routinely swooping down to scoop water., we knew darn well to stay the hell out of the way while we fished the shoreline. Messing with those big yellow birds is just, well as Lew stated "stupid!"
  3. I can't offer you anything of late as it's been about 40 years since fished there. Back then I stayed at Dry Pine Camp and the best fishing I had for Walleye was in the dead of night fishing minnow tipped jigs in the down current side of the narrows below the bridge where I have red circled on the map. There was a channel there with weed banks on either side. Anchored in the weeds and jigged in the channel. We caught fish all over but that spot was a consistent hours after sunset and very close to camp. Mind you at the time Great Escape Cabins was not there. Best of luck, it is beautiful waters.

Found this little critter on one of my geraniums a few mornings ago. Not a bad image for an inexpensive point and shoot camera.

  5. I've been there too, but those were the Mercs of old and I too called them "black anchors," back in the day, but times have changed. My Yamaha and Honda friends have stated on a number of occasions how well my "Merc" performs and how quiet it is compared to theirs. Trust me, when I was shopping out my boat, I didn't want the Merc but my dealer said "trust me," so I did and as I have previously stated, no regrets.
  6. Your age is showing Fisherman. My 2006 Merc has been a dream.
  7. I remember you catching that hog. 😁
  8. You'll get no complaints from me Phil. Dandy fish indeed! Anyone wanting to jump in with more Daddy/Daughter fishing pictures, please do so.
  9. Hahahaha, Thanks Barry, but ya I have 3 children at 30 plus years of age. This is the daughter, (Madison, middle child) who is going to Wolfe Lake. This was last year, maybe two years ago on the the lower Grand River, Dunnville. She won't hold the big Cat's she catches.
  10. Personally I think shutting down a couple of weeks earlier (mid August) would be prudent.
  11. My daughter will be taking her family on vacation to Wolfe Lake, west of Powassan in late August. Does anyone have any fishing experience/knowledge of the lake they would be willing to share? Species, depths, dangers....etc Thanks
  12. Do I really need a reason.....
  13. What to do with left over rotisserie Chicken and abundance of Broccoli, make another BBQ Pie. This time I swapped out the Mozz for Swiss and included diced tomato and onion and another blast of Cherry Wood Smoke. Yum!
  14. Personal record, Hell ya! World record, Hell no!
  15. Ditto! However I think all Chinook stocking should be triploids, bring it on..... lol
  16. Good Lord, has it been that long already. Glad to see that you're taking good care of it Buddy. She's definitely an old school build.
  17. Just protein and greens last night. I've been getting good use out of my new rotisserie so far this year and this was the first bird on it. A flavorful brined Chicken slow cooked with Cherry smoke and served with a big side of steamed Broccoli. Next time I'll remove the drip pan for the last 20 minutes or so and light the burners beneath to brown up that skin a little more.
  18. I'll bet it's fabulous on steaks indeed, well done.
  19. As well as Whitefish and Fallfish. I fished Kipawa for many years, the Walleye in there grow quite large. In fact I love fishing lakes that contain both Walleye and Lakers, you can usually get a good bite from one or the other as the day progresses from dawn to sunset.
  20. Being as hot as is was/is today I decided to use my new BBQ rather than heat up the oven to make a homemade Italian themed pie. Home made dough, thin crust, topped with Hot Italian Sausage, Green Bell Pepper, Vidalia Onion, diced Tomato and of course lot's of freshly grated Mozz. The black sprinkles added when it came off the grill are Trader Joe's Black Garlic, oooooh, so good!
  21. I'm can't understand why anyone fishes for them once they're above the estuary waters.
  22. Penicillin might fix it, ya....no! lol
  23. Gross! I'm not certain but perhaps some type of (young) leech or maybe parasitic copepods.
  24. I have eaten plenty of Rabbit Doug and I enjoy it. I do have family out that way but I seldom travel that way, if I do I will try to take you up on your generous offer.
