  1. Outstanding report Dave. It's been far too long since I plodded through the cold water streams of Grey Bruce with fly rod in hand for native trout and your post reminds me of what I'm missing out on.
  2. Suddenly I'm very hungry. Come on over Mike you could use a bacon fried meal of fish and a square of beer, it's on me.
  3. Tragic! I'm saddened to hear he was a friend of your's Wayne.
  4. Quitting is easy Simon, I've done it many times. Most recently Jan. 6th 2011 for 5 months.... Yes I'm weak at times but I'll kick this nasty habit one day, someday, permanently! Nasty, nasty habit..... *choke, cough*
  5. I'd just like to add my thanks to Wayne, Leah and Jennifer's, some outstanding community support here!

I made that mistake once.....and now years later.....
  9. Well if I have to interject and I will, your fish is "golden" Randy as it's quite obvious we didn't have a "Team 5, 5cale Bu5ster5 last year. Nice, very nice Tomiko walleye Randy, end of debate!
  10. Suddenly I feel ill....
  11. I'm sorry that your outing with your daughter was cut short Mike but the important things is you're both home safe.
  12. Well since my last post 40 minutes ago the weather has become severe, pissing rain, thunder, lightning with extreme winds out of a northerly direction and the temperature dropped quicky. I hope all of our members (and non members) can see what's approaching with enough to time to get off the water safely. Very nasty out there!
  13. I was thinking much the same thing Erik, while it hasn't rained yet here in Hamilton the skies are balck, thunder is rumbling and the winds are eerily calm, me thinks a storm is immanent. But then again I understand that's good for musky fishing. I hope all our friends play safe and don't risk their necks for a fish.
  14. I have several for various applications but all are custom and all are one piece. My faves though are built form the tip sections of 13' float rods.
  15. Uncertain yet John.
  16. I'm looking forward to seeing you and Patsy again Rich but Brook is upset that your not bringing her friends.
  17. Ontario, Spring, Bugs....it's a given IMHO. Go prepared for the worst, hope for the best.
  18. You forgot to ad, "sweaty" and "under dressed".... Just say'n
  19. Any fishfinder (sonar unit) can be made portable, a 12 volt power supply, containment box of your choice and a transducer/bracket mounted to a piece of hardwood fastened with with a c-clamp to the transom (better than any suction cup) will work.
  20. Fish can and do change colour according to their surroundings and habitat. Now this is an opinion (suggestion) only, but perhaps these light coloured bass are guarding eggs/fry on a newly dug nest of stone/gravel, turned up stone/gravel is often lighter in colour than that of the surrounding stone (ie: trout redds) and the bass would/can change colour accordingly.
  21. Sufud, hcum oot kniht uoy taht kniht I
  22. LOL....If Dave wants to join us at Lakair I'll gladly give him a chance to kick my ass, I win. Battle of the minds, I'll concede quickly.
  23. You're obviously a young man with many talents, fishing and photography are clearly among them.
  24. Trust me, I've been at Dan's home and you'd be wrong to miss out on the offer!
  25. LOL....
