  1. We started off with 1 school in 2010, 3 schools in 2011, a $6,000.00 grant from Libro Financial Group allowed us to expand to 10 school in 2012 & now the $12,000.00 grant from Bruce Power allowed us to expand to 17 school in 2013-14, most of the schools were set up in late October but we added 2 in the last week, School that are now involved are located 2 in Goderich, 1 at Brookside, 1 in Wingham, 2 in Teeswater, 2 in Mildmay, 2 in Walkerton, 1 in Ripley, 2 in Kincardine, 2 in Port Elgin, 1 in Southampton & 1 in Wiarton, Thank You very much Bruce Power for your generous donation. Hoping to hit 20 for 2014-15 & the waiting list is growing. Tight Lines SBK http://lhfcschoolhatcheries.blogspot.ca/2013/12/lhfc-school-salmon-hatchery-program.html
  2. Started with tap water this year on all of them, I had my school using well water up until this year, we are going to be adding chemical to get rid of the chlorine & my school's will be letting the water sit for 2 or 3 days, once they start to feed somewhere around Christmas they need to have a pail of water taken out 2 or 3 times a week Mon, Wed & Fri Tight Lines SBK
  3. We headed to Port Elgin to get the Eggs & start delivering them today I headed to Walkerton Sacred Heart High School, Mildmay Sacred Heart Junior School, Teeswater Hillcrest & Sacred Heart School & Wingham F.E. Madill High School, about a week ago the Hatchery Equipment was set up at the School & the students were very happy to finally see the Egg arrive, they will be at the School until late April or early May. Mike set up Brookside & Goderich Schools Grade 8, Bob set up North Port & Al took care of Kincardine Tiverton Township & Huron Heights, now all we have to do is wait for the rest of the Equipment to arrive, 8 more Chillers on the way from the USA, hopefully they get here before the Eggs hatch. 4. We were out fishing Oct 15-13 from Baie Du Dore & saw 1 boat fishing Bruce A as we headed out to fish & no-one else was around, it was the best day we had on the Lake this year & my 1st Salmon of the year, we waited around long enough to let the fish get Measured, Weighed & scales taken after we loaded the Boat. 6. It was pretty crowded out there, someone was fishing Bruce A, the boys were out collecting data on their probes & us, we were able to get our fish measured, weighed & scales taken when we arrived at shore, as Bruce Power is doing a Bass study but we were the only one out that he saw so he asked if we could wait around long enough for him to sample them. 7. We started Fishing about 14:00 & ended back at Baie Du Dore at 18:30, started out in 70' out from Douglas Point trolling southwest to 120' in front of Bruce B then back towards Inverhuron & 85' of water, we were still north of the Bay when we headed back north across Bruce B towards Douglas Point around 90' of water everything came down 50' or 62' with 1 off the cheater, NK 28 was the lure of choose with a bit of green &/or yellow, 1 Laker, 2 Rainbows, 2 Cohos & 3 Chinook & of course we lost a few & had a couple knock off's. Hopefully I can make it back out again but off to the Moon River Basin fore a 3 day weekend 1st. Tight Lines SBK

  16. I used to have a E-150 Ford Van for house painting with 4 sets of rod holders that held 4 rods each mounted to the Ceiling so at any given time my crew could go fishing for just about anything, when we were done early or a shower moved through we would hit the nearest river, lake or pond, Man I really miss that Van. 24. The donation started out at $12,000.00 to help us expand our School Salmon Hatchery Program & they added another $8,000.00 for 2013 to help out with other projects & has committed to $20,000.00 for 2014 & 2015 as we take time to build our Partnership & see what works for LHFC & Bruce Power, every Business & Corporation has some kind of impact on the surrounding Environment & Community with Pro's & Con's, there is a lot of rules, regulation & policies in place for them to follow as well as any other Business & Corporation, they didn't have to do this & we are looking forward to building on what we started. There was 98 People at the Meeting Announcement & yes the meal was very good & something they offered as we only have a Dinner meeting for Christmas. Tight Lines SBK
