I am in the fish anywhere camp. Spent a good chunk of my life fishing Balsam Lake as my parents had a trailer there. Spend time at the in laws place near Gravenhurst (writing this having a coffee and looking at the lake) and love our fishing trips in Northern Ontario. So far we have hit White River area, Whalesback channel, Nakina, Lady Evelyn and a few others. End of August w luck we are flying out os Sioux Lookout with Slate Falls Outposts Cheers Andrew

Hey - awesome - glad to provide a useful service!

When we first started doing outpost and back country camping trips we used a hand pump water filter. It was great, no issues w the water cleanliness at all but it was a fair amount of work over the course of a week We eventually made the shift to a gravity system and I get asked all the time if we like it - so I thought I would do a review Note - I have no affiliation to katadyn or any katadyn retailers - simply sharing as I personally like reading reviews prior to purchasing anything https://www.northernjacks.com/post/product-review-katadyn-base-camp-pro-10l-filter Cheers Andrew

Some of my best campfire stories are about the things we forgot to bring. Whether it was tying off an anchor, packing the gear for a shore lunch or even bringing the right clothes into the boat Newest post is up – I share a couple of my favorites https://www.northernjacks.com/post/famous-forgotten-moments Cheers Andrew

Sail filing for Chapter 11 restructuring

I will definitely miss the Etobicoke location - very easy for me to get to from Mississauga and no need to use the 407 unlike Vaughan or Burlington (well right now its fine as 401 is pretty clear right now) I am not exactly sure where it was but I always remember a big trip out was my grandfather taking us to Lebaron in Richmond Hill (believe it was on Yonge North of Highway 7) We would then Hillcrest Mall to eat in the food court... Good times, better memories -
With last nights thunder storm and this mornings general crapiness (nice now here in Mississauga though) I put up a post I had written a while ago - the rainy day shuffle Nothing can kill an outdoor trip like bad weather - post is just a few of things my family and trip groups have done over the years to "weather it out" https://www.northernjacks.com/post/the-rainy-day-shuffle?postId=5e19edd0a394bc0017c406a6 Cheers Andrew

I am a Sail fan and hope they can pull through When I was shopping for kayaks for my daughter and I we had awesome help at both the Etobicoke and Burlington stores I also find their combo of camping gear and fishing gear is second to no one near me Andrew -

Those are some beauties - well earned after a hard walk in lol

As someone who has not bought a boat in the last 10 + years am I right to say with this news you basically have: Suzuki, Yamaha and Mercury now as your only "big brand" options for outboards? Is Honda still a big player? Cheers Andrew

Hey thanks for the tips. It's actually quite a bit of work to replicate the post here. As of today I make $0 from the site but I understand if you don't want to link out to it. Cheers Andrew -

Newest Post - introducing someone to fishing
gordy28 replied to gordy28's topic in General Discussion
Thanks! That's funny. One of my cousins would only use a spin cast and did the flip over for the longest time. For sure. Well maybe this summer w limited opportunities for adventure tips them over to the dark side! I definitely think the fact that we were on the cusp of driving played a role. Fishing and camping was a new reason to drive lol. Also helped that my parents had the trailer and the boat on Balsam. Thanks for the read.
