hmmm... pb pike: too small to even count (8lbs or something) pb SM: 5.5 lbs (no pic) pb Walleye: haven't caught many but here it is (god it's wimpy... why did I bother posting that?) pb Steelhead: not quite the biggest, but the biggest I have a pic of. Biggest was in the 17lb range. This one was probably 15. cheers! p.-

Sweeeet smokin pic. Great shot, congrats. Whether it's bigger is hard to tell, but it's an awesome pic. Good job. p.-

Entrance is on N side of Dundas at Mississauga Rd and Dundas. Park there, and walk it up and down. The entire stretch is fly-fishable and pretty much wide open (i.e lots of room to cast). No sense trying to predict which spot will be best as it varies and there are lots. Try the ones you find, and good luck! p.-

Thanks for sharing Silvio. Both those tribs are good. They should have a whole different look by Sunday. Let it RAIN! p.-

Thanks for sharing. The first Steelhead is never the last. Must've been nice to have steelhead mere ...... "steps" .... uh-yuk-yuk-yuk... from your house p.-

Merci Mais celle-là je l'ai prise au caviar p.-

Actually, they are pretty dismally low here too. I was just lucky to find a few that hadn't been poked or spooked yet. It was hard work, and co-o-o-o-old... p.-

Rube = épais. But Wallacio is referring only to anyone who didn't have anything nice to say, I'm sure . p.-

woah! easy! don't know what the issue is? To be truthful, only a couple of those fish came from that pool. The others came from some other spots on my river. By association it's "my" pool you fished only because it's "my" river - but you're welcome to fish there any time p.-

Sorry to piggy-back off your post JDMLS, but I had to. It turns out that I had planned to hit the same trib as those young ruffians today ... Knowing that steelhead can get pret..ty..spooky in clear water, especially after they've been stung repeatedly ... I didn't expect quite the blast that Silvio et al. had this weekend. Good thing, too! The fish that I saw were extremely spooky and skittish. Generally they avoided the approach even of just the float coming down the river... and given the slight 50km/h BREEZE that we had today, fishing with small floats just wasn't in the cards. However, a wily old veteran like me still has a few tricks up his sleeve. The best trick: perseverance. If you know that fish are around, keep looking for the one that doesn't know you're there. Another trick, jigs from a friend of mine. They work! I didn't get many, but I'm happy with my day . The best moment came when I was cursing the wind for blowing loops of line off my reel (yet again ), only to notice that my float had just been viciously tugged 6" underwater. Despite a frenetic fit of fumbling, I was able to get him nicely hooked, and eventually 10 minutes later, get him landed. Anyway, I am heading out again tomorrow, so it's bed time now.... here are the pics: Cheers! p.-

STAINLESS STEELHEADING with Silvio and BBNotty

Thanks boys. Was wondering if that spot was going to be good tomorrow. Hopefully you left some for me ... I mean us! :Gonefishing: :Gonefishing: p.- -
I think it's Steve French! p.-

LOL! I can tell by the fast water in the background that the spinning reel made a huge difference Maybe you should've bummed some roe bags from your buddy p.-

Do you think you can try macro setting in the daylight, with flash off? Your pics will come out clearer. If there are some connoisseurs on the board, they might also be able to tell you if you have a collector's item there... No doubt about it being a fly fishing setup, though. For float fishing, you will be forced to pony up some dough... p.- p.s. macro setting is the one that looks like a little flower. It's the same on all cameras.

x shaped spots also mean it's a brown. p.- p.s. sweet brown!

politics and the economy?!?!?!?! HERE????!!! I have my own thoughts, but there must be a political/economic forum out there? All we're going to tell you here is more of the same. "It wasn't meant for you".... too true, too true. Took a wrong turn at Albuquerque? Please. I beg you. My fellow Ontarians and Canadians. Let's do more of this And less of this p.- p.s. stay the course & you'll be fine -- markets did the same thing on 9/11 p.p.s. -

Keep it up, Bernie! Any bad habit is hard to break, but addiction to nicotine is especially tough. I've never experienced it first hand, but I've seen the struggles of others. It's a tough haul, but well worth it. Not just for your health, but your pride in what you can go through and accomplish. Good luck and good health! p.- -
To each their own, I say. Pics would be nice, if only to give us something to look at. But I believe you. No need for any proof, here. The first snow has flown & the serious frosts are in. Fluctuations in water level or temperature often bring them in this time of year. Anyone who knows what they are doing (and it seems to me that you do) can get into fish. It's that simple Glad you got a chance to smoke'em! I've got a non-fishing weekend coming up, so it's nice to know that at least someone is getting out there! Good luck again next time you go out! p.-

Yeah, Dryden's not that close to T-Bay. Beautiful country you live in, though. I've seen pictures I don't know the rivers at all up there, but some make quite the trip inland before an unpassable barrier presents itself. It may not be thaaat far.... Mind you, Mike is right. If you have a weekend in the spring, once the rivers have calmed a little after the thaw, it would be worth exploring. I think some of the fellows at www.thunderbayfishing.com could be of assistance in getting you started. Of all places, this is where I found guys who knew where to get my mainline of choice (Drennan Super Mono) since there is none left in my local fishing shops (Gagnon's, Tightlines, Hirks). In mid September, many of those rivers also have healthy runs of pink salmon. They are small, strong and plentiful. Lots of documentation available at the library or bookstore, too, on where to start. Cheers! p.- p.s. and by the way, we often drive 4 hours when the conditions call for it... as kemper said, we are slightly insane
