Mike, I did some searching for you and all I can tell for sure is that they’re associated with Anglers International (www.anglersinternational.com). Can’t find them in the yellow pages, either, though. This same thing happened to another friend of mine, with his IM6, and it took him a long time to get the part back. 2 months at least. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news . I'll edit this post if I find anything else. p.-

take me out to the Situk... I'm coming too!!!! p.-

Sweet! I can't believe how clear the water looks, in those shore shots, Solo. Aren't you lucky you acted on my advice! I'm glad you destroyed major chrome, dude. The pictures are just fine. They help relieve some of the pain. p.-

promises promises lol! I'm going to start saving my pennies right now But now that you're back from Shangri-la, there's no reason to let your arms rust.... I feel the need for chrome (wink wink, nudge nudge). p.-

Sweeeeeeet ! very nice! Also nice to see all that chrome still waiting to come into where the rest of us can get at 'em p.-

I agree completely. It is a superbly written, masterfully edited, extremely well synthesized piece of angling literature. Never have I been as captivated by such a long account of a fishing trip, on any forum that I've visited. It was almost as good as seeing it on tv, except better: I got to see so many fish close up, and I got to gaze in rapture at the beautiful mountainous landscape, the curving rivers, the slender line as long as I wanted (hours). The voluptuous scenery and full-figured fish have tantalized me beyond my ability to describe. No smoky city bar ever held the attraction or could ever emanate the magnetic appeal of such a sultry account of outdoors enchantment! Sorry... where was I? I hit my head on the wall so hard after reading this post... Solo invited me but I couldn't go. But after seeing all the gorgeous pics, I think I banged my head a few times too many. Which forum is this anyway? Did Mats Sundin get his Stanley Cup ring delivered from last year? The Leafs won the Stanley Cup last year, right? right? p.- p.s. truly awesome post Solo

Try getting your roe from specialty stores like Angling Specialties, or out east at Tight Lines or Gagnon Sports. These guys usually sell you decently fresh roe. I personally like the way Gagnon's cure theirs. By the sounds of what you're saying, you were using single eggs. Nothing wrong with those, but I wouldn't put them more than one at a time. You can also get those in different colours. Pink is my fave. Also, not sure how long you've been float fishing, but sometimes it's not so much the bait as the presentation. The best summary I know of online is at www.redwingtackle.com check it out. One tip I can give you is that, although you should always experiment with the depth at which you're drifting in all conditions, faster water, like at erindale, requires that you try to keep your offering as close to bottom as possible. In slow water, I like jigs a lot. Never go without earth worms. Good luck tomorrow. You may see me in the early morning... You can see my new hat for miles.... it has the "OR" logo and it's red - (last one they had at the store ). If you see me, don't be shy to say hello! p.-

Yeah it's not facing hwy2 so you don't see it unless you're really looking for it. If you know the plaza with Free Topping Pizza, it's on the west side. Just park at the plaza and go round the corner. You'll find it. Very nice guy runs it. Been there once and I was impressed with his willingness. Nice stuff too p.-

Thank GOD I haven't been able to get out much. I'd be chewing my own shirt off my back in frustration. And, by the way, as soon as the fish cross the line from the lake to the estuary, they stop eating completely. (Did I just say that? DOH!!) p.-

Also... count your depth before you start your retrieve. 5, 10, 15, 20 seconds... until you hit bottom, and do this while fan casting. For one thing, it gives you something to concentrate on when they are not hitting well, and for another, you cover a lot more water. p.-

Yeah, cause night fishing during the day kind of sucks p.-

...oooo Metallica would be kewl. Ring me up if you need rhythm guitar (p.s. love the new Metallica album & would love to hear your thoughts on that one) That was an excellent rendition, and I've listened to it a couple of times... so far Solo says to switch gears... hmmm.... why not try "Picture" by Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow? Or really switch gears and try "Baby it's cold outside" ? Either way, I look forward to your next masterpiece! p.- -
This might shed some light on why you are getting some mixed messages. Not so sure that plans for an airport are still in place, but I found an informative link. If you got heat for mentioning the name, then I will be in big doodoo for posting this. But I'm posting it with a bigger ideal in mind... http://ontario.sierraclub.ca/campaigns/pickering_airport/ p.- p.s. if you google "save _______ creek" there's an online petition for you to sign. Apparently. it's been omitted from the "Green belt" plan... not sure how current that is... maybe someone who is closer to the issue can inform us. OFC would have lots of members that could sign the petition!

LOL! you are loaded up! Take a picture of what's left after the trip, too. Let's see what got used up! Hopefully those sweeeeet centrepins are still there. I also can't wait for the pics!!! p.-

If you never cure your roe, you can refreeze it a couple of times before it gets too goopy to be of anymore use. I pack mine, skein or loose, into small camera film containers that I get at the camera shop. You ask for them & they are happy to fill a bag for you. I put the containers in Ziplocs, afterward, and write down date & type of fish, loose or skein... etc, then toss them in the freezer. I thaw whatever I think I'll need a couple of days before I have to tie them. Little to no freezer burn when you do it this way. It also doesn't get much easier than that p.-

WHAT?!?!?! That PINK stuff you gave me isn't your own concoction, but PRO-CURE!!! NICE! p.-

Sweet fish! Good work! p.- -
I have a Shimano 9'6" IM7 blank and a med sized Daiwa reel - neither of them very expensive, very middle ground. Can't remember their names (i'm at work ) Of course, they cost ME nothing, since I fished them out while peer fishing one night (evidently someone had been salmon fishing earlier the same day & forgot to keep an eye on their rod.... ) ... As long as you have a good medium action rod, with reasonable backbone and fairly sensitive tip, you're in the right ballpark. The extra backbone is good when casting long distances. Trilene XT 14 or 17 is all I use, depending on how I feel. Yeehaa! Lures... I like little cleos the best. Glow in the dark if you are fishing at night. This early in the season, don't forget to bring some floats and roe. I expect an early run this year, thanks to all the rain we had this summer. So my bet is that they are in or staging at most locations. If you think you might get into Steelhead or brown trout fishing later on, but not sure if you want to spend on an extra rod, then consider a longer rod than 9'6". It might be a little softer construction, but all that means is that you'll have to play fish longer & not reef on them too hard! Good luck! p.-

Also, speaking of MPG - this isn't really an option as far as travelling is concerned - this could be of interest to you. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M88k6Ipp3c I've been thinking about it seriously for myself, with basically the same choices as you Mike - probably a CRV or maybe one of the Hyundai 4c SUV's and the Zenn for local driving. It would work with our commuting pattern, and having the SUV as our second vehicle would mean that we have our out-of-town commuting/travelling vehicle. Just have to wait until they become legal... p.-

I can second that. One of my neighbors owns one & he raves about his. Otherwise, if the extra cargo space takes precedence, I'm afraid you'll have to take a hit to your mojo and join the rest of us who drive minivans You couuuld also try out an H3... just kidding p.-

Best Story I've read in a long time, bud. Tough beginning with a good ending. Those are the best. I actually have a vision of the look on your face after your prop dropped off. hehehe p.- -
If the same old spots aren't holding any fishing, try new spots on the same old rivers - or try new rivers. I fished mostly in the East this year, and there are still fish to be found, for sure. A map and two feet will be your best tools to help find fish this time of year p.-
