I think this rationale will let them gain a foothold in the cities, then spread outward as more fill stations spring up in the burbs. Maybe, for e.g, a big mall in the burbs would install a fill station to attract urbanites with electrics??

Even a 'no-fish' fishing report is better than no fishing report! . Great excuse to get out and enjoy the day. If folks just saw you sitting there w/o the pole they might bother you with questions asking if you're OK!! Maybe you should talk to yourself more often? Sometimes I find that's the only way of getting a good conversation going.

I'm not sure where the 'clean' electricity is going to come from. Burning oil, gas, or coal to produce it contributes to the green house gases. There are plenty of opponents of nuclear, solar, wind.(The NIMBY's in our area are putting up a vigorous fight against wind). Our best hope might be to have millions of hampsters on treadmills being fed corn.

Never fished muskie---not sure I want to catch one. Maybe best not to use my fave Big 'O's trolling for bass in a nearby lake that has muskie!!!

We burn about 1 1/2 bush cords a year and we have a gas furnace. I rented a splitter to split 2-3 cords that I had scrounged. I find the optimum mix is about 2/3 hardwood and 1/3 softwood. As others have said, you need to get the system hot quickly to avoid soot build-up in the chimney. I also use lots of kindling----usually scrap lumber scrounged from new houses being built somewhere in town. It's bit of a learning process to operate the system----that's part of the fun!

Go with the 16". If it was avail as an option I'd prob buy it even shorter. I have a small wood stove but I would blister the paint on the walls if I kept it continually stuffed with wood. We also have a gas furnace, so the stove is for "entertainment". At night my wife watches TV and I look at the fire(or glance at it while I'm surfing). What I'm watching is --IMO-- more entertaining than what she's watching!
