  1. Great report there Raf....looks like you had one hell of a spring!
  2. Go Sens Go. Let me know if you want any tickets to the series I am selling the ones I have below face value.
  3. Bunk you live the life my friend. Excellent report as always.
  4. Great report guys. That's what fishing is all about. I loved fishing with my Dad and Poppa when I was growing up, looked like you guys had an awesome day.
  5. Similar to the rest, I don't keep bass unless they are hooked deep and are not going to make it. I keep the odd pike and walleye from time to time. Never caught a muskie but I read a good article in Ontario Out of Doors a few years back where the author said when you do catch that first trophy muskie hold him so you can feel his heart beat and you'll never think about killing one. With this said panfish are fair game and probably make the best table-fair anyways.
  6. What recent thread has you so setoff rat?
  7. Thanks guys. Might hit them again tomorrow if it doesn't rain. If I get out I'll let you guys know how it goes.
  8. I guess I should have mentioned that I turned my Storm electric fillet knife into a smoldering piece of plastic on Sunday. Thank god it came on the last fish and I only needed to use my regular fillet knife to remove the skin off 2 fillets. CTC gave me a new one Monday AM, and it almost went after another 60 Crappie on Monday nite. I'll use the Storm until it craps out again, but I'm thinking of picking up the Rapala knife that plugs in and has a battery......anyone have this knife and if so good reviews? Glad you guys like the report!
  9. Managed to take a couple days off from studying for exams Sunday and Monday so I hit the lake for some spring Crappie with my friend Jeff. Water temp was perfect for the tasty little devils right in the 50-55*F range in the shallows. Both days were sunny, around 18*C with a bit of chop, but the Crappie didn't seem to mind. Pretty much got a bite or fish every cast. Caught probably 400 fish in 2 days, in and around 1 in 4 were keepers. Kept our limit of 60 each day....I know that's alot, but we love eating Crappie and rarely keep any fish during the summer other than the occasional Walleye. Bait of choice was BPS's 2-inch Squirmin' Squirts (micro tubes) in red/white colour using 1/32 ounce tube jig heads. Jeff found out pretty quickly to lose the float and stop tipping his bait with worms would keep the sunfish away. Here's a few pics from the outings......Kerr if your still checking OFC down in FLA I've got a ziplock of fillets for you! First 2 of the day on Sunday. Jeff with a couple dandy's. Bucket O'Crappie We think this was the biggest, but were not exactly sure.....a Slab never the less. This was the last fish cleaned on Monday.....as you can tell from the sweat dripping off my face. Fun couple days forsure, beats studying anyday regardless of how many you catch. Probably won't be able to get out again until long weekend in May. For those of you who go after these guys I hope you are blessed with the same luck we had! Chris
  10. What a way to close them out. Emery won the game for us in the first 10 mins. GO SENS GO!
  11. Eddy what lake is this north of Kingston? I live in Kingston in Collins bay.
  12. Thanks. I just got rid of them....you should try to make it to a game, 100 times better atmosphere than the "Suit's" at the ACC in TO. Enjoy the series guys and gals!
  13. Just thought I'd share these with the other hockey nuts out there.....yes even the Leafs fans might enjoy them. From a diehard Sens fan, game 1 was amazing! It was my birthday too which made it that much sweeter to win GM 1. Few Pics from warmups.......I'm not really sure who 87 is for Pittsburgh, he must be a late call-up from the minors or something? If you're wondering why Fleury played so poorly, I got in his head bigtime! Not sure why the Sens came out flying? The place was ELECTRIC! Nice action shot from the second period. And remember.....
  14. No its not fixed, but for excitement's sake online play does result in more exciting hands. I know its frustrating at times but in the end it all evens out. I have some friends that make a living from online and live play.....I know what your all thinking yeah right, but legit these guys are pulling in about a $1000/week US. Not a bad way to live in your early 20's.
  15. Who wants REAL playoffs tickets for the OTT vs. PIT series? I have lots for every OTT home game. PM me or check out the classifieds for my cell number. Here's the link http://www.ontariofishingclassifieds.com/c...000000010000001
  16. Mines AbBoTtRoS. I play Tiger 07, NHL 07 and a few others on LIVE. 360 is a great system!
  17. Micro red and white tubjigs work well for me early spring. Might need a float depending on the area. If they are there and active you shouldn't have any problem filling some pails, small minnows work well when its slow. Here's a few pics from last spring. The one on the right here is 14 inches (PB for me....but I know they get bigger!) Just found this image on Bass Pro....these were deadly last year. I prefer the (01) Colour!
  18. Possibly the report of the YEAR! Although most of Bunk's reports are quite memorable for that matter.
  19. I really wish we could keep this to a fishing forum. Clearly when 60-something people reply to a thread like this with mixed reviews someone is going to stir the pot either side they are on. Either way you lean, I think alot of it is political and no offense to anyone (I'm a politics student at Queen's) threads like this serve no purpose in bringing the forum together as we usually do.
  20. Vance Sorry for your loss. Sounds like your dad lived a wonderful long life and you two shared some great memories together. My condolences.
  21. Looks like a fun day boys....great report! Chris
  22. Hit was late and a clear intent to injure. Not so much a head shot as some people think, but I mean Janssen claims he was finishing his check..... crap he was out to hurt a star player. What does it tell you that the Devils didn't give him a shift the rest of the game.....they knew it was dirty too. 3 Games, not nearly enough, talk right now is 7-10 days for Kaberle, but it could be the rest of the season. And for the record.....I'm a HUGE Sens fan, I HATE the Leafs with a passion. BUT Kaberle is a great hockey player, without question one of the best on the Leafs.....no need for what happened to him in the game. PS. Being said I'm a Sens fan, please no comparisons to Neil's hit on Drury last week. That was a clean hit as well, not late, unfortunate result, reviewed by the league etc. and we all know the conclusion to the story. Anyways I truly hope for a speedy recovery for Kaberle as he will be key, if the Leafs are to make the post-season.....which yes "we" all want....even the Sens fans! Believe me the only way to shut Leafs fans up for good is a series win against the Leafs enroute to a CUP.
  23. I love mine. I have the PTI 30, I'll probably buy a 10 or 20 for my ultra-lite for pan fishin' this spring. The anti-reverse is the best I've used on any spinning reel to date.
  24. Great advise Lew, you beat me to it! On the topic of mono, I am loving the fluro that is available now.....worth a try for those that haven't used it instead of mono.
