Figures. I got pumped to ice fish this year, and then it turns out to be the best winter ever. I may need to get the canoe back out after Christmas and try for some trouts.
-
Just chopped up my gigantic Friends of Temagami map and laminated all the pieces. Now it's actually useful, and usable in the field!

Here's how to fish comfortably during the winter months: http://store.steampowered.com/app/380600/

That thing wouldn't make it through the first season.m

I won't find a nice used popup anywhere within a 100km radius from me. Add shipping or gas to pick up, and I may as well just buy brand new.
I don't ice fish very often, so I don't need something that's built like a tank.

The clear plastic will crack first time out in -15 temps

Great day on the water today! Caught 3 inland rainbows myself, and netted 2 for my brother, all of them put up aerial fights and were notably bigger than our previous ones.
-
Pretty annoying when splake are jumping clear outta the water all around your boat and won't take what you're giving to them.

I need a sarcazim thing a ma bob. I got one this year.LOL
-
walleye on top water.. absolutely! Splake on top water? not a chance..
-
I've had brookies hit bobbers before... Only one particular lake, and only one particular day. But it was pretty crazy to see.

Ever notice how, if your fishing partner is using an Ugly Stik, they get a lot more "bites" than you do? Also tend to set the hook into some nice logs, and unknowingly reel up weeds. I have.
-
I keep thinking if I click on a profile pic, that I'll get a bigger view so I can see the fish, but instead, I just wind up on that member's stalker list.

FINALLY caught a rainbow trout! Four of them, in fact. And my brother caught three himself, and lost one. Good day on the water!

When I say "I'm leaving exactly at 5pm, if not before" it doesn't mean "let me know at 5:05 that you're about to eat supper, and then take 25 more minutes to do so. It's cool; it's not like we're running out of daylight or anything." Grrrr. After-work fishing trips will have to be solo from now on, I think.

If it was 5am and we had a whole day to fish, sure, a half hour, even an hour late, whatever. But 5pm when it takes a half hour or more to get to the lake, plus more time to get onto the water, and the sun sets at what, 7:30pm now, if not earlier?

anyone looking for an on time replacement fishing partner?
-
If you live close to me, I am.

The telescopic rod tube at CT is a joke. Cap pops off, flimsy body, etc. Made my own out of ABS, not telescopic but SO much better! Will be mounting it to the rear rack on my Honda Big Red.

It was a 10-year manufacturing ban and it ended in the 90s. The companies all agreed to not revive production.

I had two of them last year. Decided to sell them to pay for a 4 wheeler. Can't kill those big reds, but they'll gladly kill you hahaha
-
I also have two, but only one is insured and plated, the other is just for parts. Would have cost too much to get them both running, and I can only drive one at a time.
-
I got two Honda ATC 200Es today. So cheap, may as well have just stole 'em! One for parts, one for fixing/fishing.

finally pulled a walleye outta the Montreal. I heard they were in there, just can't get 'em from my shore spots.
