  1. I WANT ONE !!!!!
  2. I paddle whitewater and early spring and Dec runs where everything is frozen up at the end of the day are normal, so not going to sneer at these surfers Quite a few friends would be amongst the winter surf crowd as well. brrrr
  3. I can't use my company's PS license on my personal laptop so have been thinking of installing this. Have heard nothing but good about it. and it's cheaper as well. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/
  4. was in PEC last week and saw a sweet Lund (guessing 18' or longer) at a gas station on 33.
  5. the angle of the rims was offset so it's not super clean but is this what yer looking for ? it's a bit too dark between the spokes but gives you an idea of how it will look on your ride
  6. that is indeed a great way to start your day Lew !
  7. sorry Art, I understand change and tying new things, but this hurts my eyes can we have the old look...please...?
  8. from Merck's webpage, Feb 2021. They manufacture Ivermectin so would have some stake. " No scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against COVID-19 from pre-clinical studies; No meaningful evidence for clinical activity or clinical efficacy in patients with COVID-19 disease, and; A concerning lack of safety data in the majority of studies. We do not believe that the data available support the safety and efficacy of ivermectin beyond the doses and populations indicated in the regulatory agency-approved prescribing information."
  9. jayzus man ! so glad they were able to make sure you stick around a bit longer so we can enjoy your posts here our health care professionals have a tough job (sister is retired RN, and niece is working towards becoming a NP, or her masters) at the best of times, let alone during this pandemic. and I'm sure they would absolutely appreciate that letter from you.
  10. just in time for the 2/4 long weekend
  11. should be lots of info on this Ontario Parks page. basically, camping as far as I know, is not happening. day use is open. http://www.ontarioparks.com/covid19
  12. well the jab was much better than the flu jab or blood draw haha. and the pharmacist was wonderful. hope the next 20 days fly by with no probs was really hoping for Pfizer, but with the cases in Ontario going ballistic, and not being able to get it until late May/June.. well AstraZeneca was the better choice. don't really wanna be hospitalized, or on a hi flow nasal canula...or worse. fwiw, recall has plots of doses and some places are even walk in. don't play the game and wait for Pfizer, get whatever you can.
  13. this is what really pisses me off. Many of us like you Cliff are doing our part to help keep numbers down, and selfish idiots like this are wry we've probably never going to get back below 1000. I'm getting my AZ in a couple of hours, but it's not a free pass to freedom. masks and sanitizer will be my SOP for the rest of the year afaic.
  14. w who had this on their bingo card ? ffs our numbers are beyond frightening and ICU is critical and urgent surgeries are on hold. I'm laying much of this on Ontario's CMOH Williams....and a few others of course. mask up, avoid large crowds (inside or out) and sanitize the hell out of your hands.
  15. While twitter can be a toxic cesspool, there are authoritative people there I look to for pandemic data and info, esp Dr. Warner. This is a brief list, but there are many others who only have keeping people safe, as their goal. @drmwarner @BogochIsaac @DFisman @BrooksFallis @jkwan_md
  16. my post had nothing to do with symptoms or prevention. I'd also like to know if vaccines do one or both, as much will depend on that. stay safe
  17. one class was essential workers, which is pretty wide open. if they were HCP, then it would have stated that. I'm wondering if they were non medical staff (ie-cleaners, food service etc.) Most of the report was fine, I was simply expressing surprise, as performing a deepnasal swab is not something I would think, easy to do on oneself. I know I would have a hard time.
  18. one thing from that report which kind of raised my eyebrows was that participants self collected nasal samples. I haven't had the pleasure of a deep nasal swab but unless they were trained properly, one wonders how good a sample size the can collect. there's a reason the swab is swirled around deep in the passage, and that's tomato sure they collect enough sample for proper testing. a quick light swirl may not be enough. So I'm here nor there on this study, but if the CDC gives its stamp of approval...
  19. am right handed and cast with the right (spinning, bait cast and fly) but use left handed reels
  20. Doug ain't gonna do squat. Things will be lockdown lite, when what he really needs are stay at home orders for specific regions ie- Toronto,York and Peel, for starters. And letting non essential stay open is a joke. I hope the proves me wrong, but his track record is abysmal. stay safe everyone, the light is still shining in the tunnel.
  21. if you start with braid, I'd suggest getting a picker for working out the bird's nest you're going to have.
  22. yup and deep cleaning is still not going to affect the major risk. it's all about airborne and as along as there's poor ventilation ( ie- very few complete changes of air), then the virus is gonna keep on keeping on. the building my office is in has been changing filters regularly and I believe went full hepa last year. so few people working here though. my neighbourhood has seen huge parties with four or five families, if not more (this weekend was big kegger b-day party). next door is a doc at one of the UHN hospitals and she dreads explaining to her kids why they can't play with the other rug rats. this is in a nice neighbourhood so I can only surmise the upper middle class think they're invincible or DGAF....sigh
  23. The VOC are becoming a real concern as hospitals are seeing younger ICU admissions, and they're staying longer. This is the cohort that was supposed to be at less risk, now they're not. I don't see the border re-opening up until late summer/fall tbh. If that. Stay safe, take whatever shot they give you, and take it one day at a time, no matter how slow that can be.
  24. With around 18% of Americans vaccinated, and around 5% of Canadians (having received single dose in both cases), I don't see the border being opened for non essential travel for some time. Possibly the fall, but I wouldn't bank on that. The VOC are the real wild card and game changer here.
  25. The Globe and Mail is not the place you'd expect to find stories on bass fishing but there ya go. Marty Klinkenberg writes about Gustafson's win. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/article-jeff-gustafon-reels-in-100000-catch-down-south/?utm_medium=Referrer:+Social+Network+/+Media&utm_campaign=Shared+Web+Article+Links I think Klinkenberg also wrote something about urban fishing around Toronto, last year. A few years back the Globe's Cathal Kelly wrote a side splitting piece while riding shotgun with Ike Iaconelli. will post the link to that laffer after I search for it. fwiw, I met Cathal and he is so far from who one would expect to cover the Bassmaster, bespoke trench coat, tailored suit, nice leather shoes...
