you've spent more than your fair of life working so enjoying life is part of the plan. can you still do work for some fav customers after the garage is shuttered ? enjoy more time fishing and putting your feet up

take the 529 detour. the lineup on 69 is hellacious x1000
-
man I hope it's done before that lol but this is Ontario where summer is road work season !

so drove up 69 yesterday and yikes. two major slowdowns. manned traffic control just below Shawanaga. long line but they let lots of cars through before switching direction. the other one was at Naiscoot, and that was way worse. timed traffic lights by the bridge and it was brutal. guessing backup was well over a km+ long. I should have taken the 529 to bypass the mess. above that was smooth sailing. so good I didn't even notice crossing over the french haha. trading post was busy.

go wireless. Have a Maverick temp probe (two probes, one for grill and one for the meat) from HD. It's nice being able to monitor temps from inside, esp if weather is damn ugly. but yeah, still gonna need a small hole for the probe, think maybe 1/4", 3/8" tops. -
didn't want to give away location, but there are three canals. um, so that certainly keeps it secret lol

wow, that's longer than most of my friends and fam. glad you're feeling better.

I believe Sanofi-Pasteur is building a new facility in the GTA, iirc. Also believe N95 respirators will be made here as well, if they aren't already. I'll be masking till 2022, and am using these masks/respirators. Feel safer using them over blue surgical and cloth masks. https://soomlab-korea.com

Am Team Astra-Moderna as of last week. Astra was nappy time for a day. Moderna, sore arm then middle of the night, felt like I was run over by a tank. Aches all over. Next day at work, was totally lethargic, no energy. Day after, everything was back to normal. So one night of hell, then Boom, gone. Considering most cases in hospitals now are unvaccinated people, beyond glad to be double dosed. Delta is the wild card.

can confirm

not sure how well it would push your inflatable but Honda 2.5 has are great. run wide open, sounds like a horde of angry bees coming after you. used one on a sq stern Langford cedar canvas. great for skinny water. air cooled iirc

run it on eco mode and no one will hear it.

thanks Cliff. totally agree about driving through North Bay, hate it. I honestly don't know if I'll be heading up there this year, which sucks cuz it's been a few years since I've been up on the West Arm. Think it was the year Kevin passed, but before Leslie sold Lakair, which I miss sooo much. This pandemic sucks
-
sorry, key river. think it changed hands over the years. wonder if 11 to 17 to Verner is good way to get to the west arm if 69 is a gong show ?
-
hey Cliff, is the Esso station by the Pickerel River still open ? Haven't been up that way since last summer.

Don't get me wrong, I like shorter dives as well but seeing towns become shells of what they used to be is hard. I have land near Sundridge, and Lake Bernard is definitely part of what keeps that town going. Funny story. I used to do canoe trips from Round Lake into North Tea etc and always stopped at the Blue Roof after the trip. Been a few years so when I went to the Blue Roof, I was like, ' this is weird, it used to be on 11, not main street small-town '. Powassan seems still pretty active (Original Bug Shirt Company is there), but haven't driven through Trout Creek. On 69, there was a popular Shell (Esso ?) and burger joint I think north of Parry Sound (another must stop after canoeing the Magnetawan) and afaik, there's no sign at all that this place every existed. I guess I miss the random stops at small town gas stations and coffee shops. sorry for the walk down memory lane haha
-
four lanes have put the brakes on many towns that were on 11, all so traffic can moves faster with fewer slowdowns. Not looking forward to 69 when it's all said and done.

I'd save the agro and get a prop wrench if it were me. and yeah, spares. and def don't run a prop that's met Canadian Shield. it will likely shake like hell and possibly damage the motor.

Word has it the waters around the Big Cut are pretty productive. It's a cool ride through the cut, and you can make your way down to Monetville. Last time I was there, someone was perma-squatting in the area, which was a sore point with some people. Wish someone would have taken it down their tents and stuff (Hi CO), cuz it was a really nice campsite/shore lunch spot that was unavailable to others. But agree with Lew re: West Bay. Have had very productive days in some bays, which shall remain unidentified

so glad I wasn't sipping my tea when I read this

totally get where you're coming from. we should be a bit looser in several sectors but I'd prefer to be safer than not. and I totally get the small biz thing, my wife has seen her work drop like a rock last year. it's only slowly beginning to pick up and she felt better when I had my first AZ cuz at least I had *some* protection and she wasn't as worried about bringing something home. The second shot can't come soon enough and I think the schedule sold be moved up now that doses are coming in fast and furious. Maybe there might be a fall Lakair visit if things go well. stay safe and be well, wb

I would suggest writing to your MPP and MP expressing your frustration. perhaps cc: local radio, tv, or newspaper. Won't get into how I think this pandemic has been dealt with, but if we had done a true hard lockdown earlier, we wouldn't been this situation. I blame this partly on the lack of spine Ontarians have tbh. My in laws in Australia etc did this and they're filling 90k sports stadium. tl;dr - we partly have ourselves (not literally you or I) to blame for prolonging this. We're getting there day by day and I expect by Canada Day long w/e will be much better and patios will be open !

damn. sorry to hear this, and hope you have a quick recovery with no long haul baggage.
