  1. if you Instagram, be selective with hashtags. Instagram is a photo platform so be sure photos are killer. beauty lighting and clean backgrounds would help the sell, or pics of fly in fish's maw kind of pic. in situ if you will. if there are well known fly fishermen using your flies, they'd be good to regram if they take pics of your work in action.
  2. you are a true mensch Dan.
  3. not a 7, but when I got my 5, the card was in a separate small bag iirc. micro sd card wasn't very big. first update basically ate up most of the room, and afaik, you can't just copy the data onto another larger card. will check the box to see if it says anything about navionics + being included
  4. he shoulda stopped with the Red movies. I mean John Malkovich and Helen Mirren ? c'mon man, doesn't get better than that lol
  5. SHEEIT ! Hope someone find it through internet sleuthing, or random pawn shop visit by members here, and others. also hope the thieves are caught, hopefully still in possession of the rods/reels. after having my plates stolen, been meaning to get cameras, if only to be able to help cops identify the low lifes. good luck, and fingers crossed for a happy outcome
  6. so guessing this stuff has a long shelf life ? time to visit CT, cuz Peavy/TSC are too far away from me
  7. man that's great news about how the argo has been a champ for you on your adventures. Sorry about the dealership that only wanted your money, but glad that you found a better one ! I'd be tempted to let Argo head office know about the piss poor service from the dealership, and hope they light a fire under their backside.
  8. I liked 5 or 6 for trout on smallish streams/rivers. 8-10 (sinking tip) for bass and pike, when you eventually go that route
  9. haven't fished there but I wonder if charters around 'Tamagringo' will cost more cuz well, expats and lots of $$ tourists. ymmv
  10. exactly this
  11. only if it's rare or medium rare. anything else is destined for the bin
  12. makes me wonder if O'Leary married into an old Muskoka family. Linda looked pretty at ease docking etc..
  13. I'd run from this sale if it were me. they can send certified cheque maybe ? not sure how safe that is though. as noted, paypal for a sale this big is a red flag. I use paypal for lots of transactions but not for something this huge, and usually with people I have references for. cdns get email interac transfers. good luck and also what fisherman said....seller pays fees which can be substantial
  14. must have been incredible watching the water bomber making its low pass and water scoop. Only thing close to that was one time at Lakair, a helicopter kept circling low over the area. Asked about the equipment hanging below and Lesley and Kevin's son was a helo pilot and said it was likely something for monitoring leafy crops of, at the time, ill repute fwiw, dropped by Lakair and it is so different now. cottages have been spruced up (a little too pretty for me tbh, I prefer lodge rustic). camping is def done but they have plans for more luxe camping. as during Lew's visit, place was very quiet hope people return, dennis and denise have done alot to the place.
  15. not a lawyer, but I wonder if a will, will preclude needing an agreement. Also, obviously a good lawyer can guide you on how long you co-habitate before becoming common law. whatever you decide, do this before taking the next step, or you can disperse your assets to your kids now if you can.
  16. have Simms, but next pair I'd consider Dryft. Friends who have them say they're pretty cats meow.
  17. these, and others are in stock at Cabelas Barrie. https://www.cabelas.ca/product/57700/eco-pro-tungsten-pro-drop-shot-weights
  18. the flasher view is pretty sweet huh ? just need the one graph for everything
  19. thanks man ! it seems everyone can't understand why Humminbird doesn't have inline fuses preinstalled, like you alluded tom are they just being cheap ?. It's a smallish battery so *shld* be ok, but inline fuses are cheap vs blowing something on the finder lol also gotta say it's really nice seeing depths for wolseley bay (even the spots where I bent some props are marked as rocks lolol). heard the water is lower this year as well.
  20. ugh. shopping at Basspro and Cabelas aren't the same experience any more. In other words, I really, really miss LeBarons, and that one place in Oshawa (name escapes me, thought they were going to reopen)
  21. So had a Piranhamax 160 for years and just got a Helix 5. With the 160, the power cable went straight to the 12v 7amp sla battery, no fuses. Helix manual says i need a 3amp inline fuse and their illustration is odd, shows it connected to the +ve terminal and just hanging there, no splice in the cable. Before I go shopping, does anyone here use the Helix 5, and have an inline fuse ? It's going to hooked up to a Dakota 12v 10a LiFePo battery. tia btw-the cave at Cabelas has really gone downhill. all they had in their was camo clothing. no gear at all.
  22. just had laser iridotomy last week. if I didn't have the work done, my condition (acute angle something or other...) would likely have ended in glaucoma, which leads to a world of misery. thank god my optometrist is on her toes. hope it heals up well, I'm probably going to need cataract surgery down the road...
  23. typography is such an under rated aspect of EVERYTHING, it can be so subtle that one barely notices it. I knew people who worked at the Globe and Mail and when they were doing a redesign a few years ago, they had tables full of fonts...serif, or sans serif lol decision took some time and involved the publisher as well iirc.
  24. hope they figured out how to move traffic then. wonder if friday will see a return to lurching cars ? haha
