  1. Merry Christmas everyone. Best wishes for a safe holiday and prosperous New Year.
  2. The bottom line in all this is simply, was it legal. There are educated people out there getting paid a lot of money to govern and control our resources. Until such time as regulations change, nobody has the right to cast judgement on someone that is acting within the confines of the law. This is just as relevant with fishing as it is hunting. If someone has issue with what he did, they are well within their rights to pursuit getting regulations changed because that is the root cause, not the hunter. And I agree with some of the other sentiments, I hunted most of my life and have no interest in shooting a treed cat, BUT, that has nothing to do with whether HE wants to do it. Again, there are tremendous amounts of fluctuation in the regulations across N. America and because of that, what is normal for one area is strange or even taboo in another. Take spring bass fishing for instance.
  3. What a coincidence! I'm all-night-Dave! LOL yeah right! I fish alone most of the time. With me, it's usually the day before when I decide to go so it doesn't give anyone else enough notice. But I'm good either way, I like the company but enjoy the solitude. I think it goes back to bowhunting where I spent thousands of hours alone.
  4. Much more angry...more like Alanis Morissette. Matt's new album "Jagged Little Puck" Hmmm isn't it ironic?
  5. Agreed. 19 mins is the absolute limit for driving to the Canadian TireD Center. Hahaha
  6. January? Camping? 5-6 days? 10-12kms? Hoping to catch dinner?? If you like, I can print you off a Darwin award now and save you the suffering...
  7. I suggest we start looking under tarps.
  8. duplicate thread
  9. My buddy is a pilot and just inherited his father's float plane. It just got a new engine...come on spring!
  10. Stunning animal. Good on you for providing a home.
  11. Well, I kind of hit the jackpot this month. I love to cook...a lot, and read books and video on everything from knife skills to french cuisine. If I won enough money to retire, I'd go to culinary school for sure. So with Sears packing it in, I thought I'd check out their cookware "bargains" and found none. But I did buy a brand new GAS 5 burner convection range! lol Always wanted to switch to gas and getting a $250 off was just the incentive I needed. I figured it would cover the cost of running a gas line to the kitchen. So the day they drop it off, I notice a small dent in the side panel and the driver calls Sears to let them know. With no option of switching ranges because of supply, I decide to keep it and take the $100 rebate they offered over the phone. Nice, $350 off! Yesterday they call to let me know they processed the refund...$291 with tax. What the?? Woohoo! $541 off! Now we cookin' lol And, there are very few young families on our street but across from us is a family with 3 little kids. With our kids grown up, we still like to see "happy little Christmas faces" so we went out and picked up a gift bag of cookies, Lindt chocolates and Christmas-y smartie figurines for them. I dropped them off last night and struck up a conversation with the stay at home Mom while the kids tore into the chocolate eggs and ruined their dinner lol. She was a chef! She showed me her library of instructional cooking books, professional texts, recipes, etc and told me to borrow whatever I needed! I left with books specifically on beef, pork and chicken. Lots to photocopy for future use...ie butchering. Next week will be great...the whole week off and family coming over. Perfect time to spend long hours in the kitchen, enjoying a drink, blasting silly Christmas tunes and creating some new dishes!
  12. Great reminder guys, thanks. I have food to drop off. Whispering Hearts??? how do you NOT adopt with a name like that? lol
  13. Yep...assault and battery.
  14. In the French River area, there's a specific time you'll never, ever see black flies....winter.
  15. You were so excited at the thought of getting $25, you flew past the first page!! lol "Registration for the Loblaw Card Program will open on January 8, 2018. Please check back then." Hey, this reminds me I have a $25 BPS gift card I need to use!
  16. Yeah, I blew it! I knew about the game and just gapped out. I watched the replay game... Marner had a great game eh?? Little bugger was flying out there. Babcock said the guys were teasing him saying he played great because it the first game he played that wasn't past his bedtime! lol
  17. Ahhh!! Would a game time reminder be too much to ask??!!!! LOL Missed it!
  18. I threw my back out and I'm on robaxacet...anything could happen today! LOL
  19. Good point...that is a hike! I just checked Vivid Seats for Ottawa tickets. Tomorrow night Minnesota is in town and the tickets run from $16 to $110. Not bad! On Jan 20 the Leafs are in Ottawa...tickets are $142 to $501! The Leaf fans will drive 5 hours AND pay 5 times the going rate in Ottawa to watch their team play. Bet it's a "no tarps night"!!!!! Even when teams like Boston or Chicago are in Ottawa tickets start at under $30!
  20. The Sens should take a page from the Leaf's fan handbook and support their team through thick and thin. Maybe then their owner wouldn't get fed up with their half-azzed support of the team and consider sticking around. There's no way with that fan base Melnyk is writing the cheque that Karlsson wants and he knows it'll only get worse once he's gone. It's a lose - lose in Ottawa; ..they're history, guaranteed. And truthfully, I see you as a "diehard" fan and you bailed on the Leafs and have already commented on bailing completely on the NHL....kinda speaks for the fickle fans in Ottawa. I'd hate to see Canada with one less team so here's hoping Quebec City but, I'd rather the team go somewhere where it can survive then stay in Ottawa and have to get subsidized by it's owner or be the runt of the Canadian litter. Go Leafs FREAKING Go!!!
  21. Here's hoping they send them crack. But yeah, can't see that happening.
  22. "Brutal" is the one thing Leafs and Sens fans know! lol
  23. Now saying that, it's not like they couldn't go deep, look at Ottawa. But I'm not interested in seeing the Leafs become a one-hit wonder in the league. I hope they take their time and continue the rebuild without sacrificing common sense for an expedited run at the cup. Having the Exec team they have makes that a small worry.
  24. Then they're on crack. The leafs are no where deep enough to sustain a long cup run...unless the stars align perfectly. If Anderson goes out...the parties over, and quick. And they better remember how to score goals too.
  25. Matt, I can tell you that some Leaf fans are as high as kites...the rest of us are much more grounded and know the empire could collapse without notice. Look at Ottawa, I knew they played above their heads last year but didn't expect this debacle.
