Anyone close by Gbaygiant that could lend him some off shores to try out? HH
-
Firstly, many thanks to all who replied to this thread! You folks are shining examples of this fine community. The work has been done and little surprise to those who know, but Bernie was once again correct. Thanks Bernie! Armed with the information you provided here and through PM's, the dealer dropped their price on the part by about 40%! So, with a little luck, we should be good to go, until the next thing, that is! LOL HH

Can't say I have trolled musky lures behind in lines, but I do recall watching Gerritt drag one of those salt water X Raps, the biggins, behind an Off Shore board with no ill affect to the board at all. His arm was a little sore reeling that thing in 200ft! I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread for a more experienced reply. HH

Thanks guys.... Slowpoke... the key cylinder is in the dash, so moving the steering wheel, although an excellent thought, won't help! Trust me, I have given the area a few "love taps", to no avail. Dannyboy... I'll try and explain a little better, my bad btw, ... when the car won't start, virtually every aspect of the car's electrical system is dis-engaged. I believe that the car thinks it's being stolen (I wish!!!) and disables all systems associated with the engine and driving. As I mentioned, I had the started replaced and the entire starting system checked out perfect. Cranksbait... I had a new key made and programmed for this ignition system, so I don't think the key is the issue. Thanks again to all and please, feel free to throw stuff out there... HH

Thanks to all so far.... I've had the entire battery and charging system tested, the battery is 6 months old and the terminals are clean. The car is now sitting at the dealership and I have updated the C.S. rep as to the history and problems. They are going to have it for atleast a couple of days. Bernie, I'm pretty sure your correct... but again, I'm trying to only change out one expensive part, rather than two. The ignition system assembly or and god forbid, the security module. I'll update ya when I learn more. Thanks, HH

Raf, I tried the neutral start and the same result... the car is completely disabled. HH

alpha alpha... I've had the battery and charging system tested, nothing wrong. Bernie, the tech at the dealership felt the same way, but also suggested that the security module might be flawed. Replacing either is a very expensive solution. Problem being, if I replace the ignition system and the security module is the culprit and vice versa... well you get the point. Bernie, is this a common problem for these cars? You know that I hold your opinions in the highest esteem... any other thoughts or should I simply get a new ignition system. Thanks all! HH

I agree Roy, but she is the main driver of the car. I only drive it on weekends, I drive the Jimmy every day. I'm pretty sure that the problem is the car's secruity system, but no one has been able to replicate the problem in a shop situation. I have already taught my wife about making sure the car is in park. When it fails to start, everything that could allow the vehicle to start and run is disabled. The radio works, the lights, but nothing that allows the car to start will work. Thanks for trying though! HH

Hey folks, I have a 2000 Olds Intrege that is having some fairly difficult problems. Here's what we have been dealing with. Most of the time the car starts, probably 95% of the time. However, some times and it has actually only happened when my wife has it, it simply won't. What I mean by that is she will put the key into the ignition and nothing. Does not turn over, no dash lights nothing. Wait 1/2 hour and try again, it starts! Rolls over and everything is fine. I thought maybe a bad started so I had it replaced. No, a couple of days later, same problem. I took it to my local mechanic who thought it it was an ignition problem, specifically to do with the security system. As he is not an expert, he suggested I take it to a dealership. I did. They could not replicate the problem. The "expert" at the dealership said he could not diagnose the problem, unless it was doing it while he had it. He suggested we try a new key, his feeling being that the ignition system was not recognizing the key and the security system was locking down the car. Well, the new key worked for about two weeks. I just got a call from my wife, it's dead again. I am about to go flippin postal!!!!!! Anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions? I have inquired about having the security system disabled, but apparently that is not something that can be done. Appreciate your thoughts folks! HH

Ok... so now I'm right back where I started! To seal or not to seal... ahh that is the question! HH

Thanks folks! I must admitt to having the same experience with regard to off the shelf sealers... guess I'll contact a sprayer! HH

From the Shwa, Quinte is less than 2 hours. It is ranked in the top three Pickereye spots in North America and holds resident trophy fish. This time of year, I would troll flats with 1/4 oz cranks. Worm Harness as well. HH

Hey folks! I have a question for all you drive way experts! LOL I just had my driveway re-paved and I am wonder if I should seal it sooner, rather than later? The work was done on Monday, we will be parking our cars on it as of tonight. Should I seal it now or wait and if I am to wait, what is the reasoning. Also, which sealer would you folks suggest. Thanks in advance! HH

Sorry folks! I didn't realize that the link didn't work... try this: HH

Your drummer quits, can't keep time etc... heck, who needs 'em! Most of us already have something similar to this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbN-j...layer_embedded HH I don't think the Verado will be loud enough! LMAO

All of his musical accomplishments were eliminated from my mind as soon as he was brought out as a child molester. As soon as you mess with kids, you have forsaken any level of private or public respect. I bet there are more than a few parents out there who are celebrating this day. HH To those who take offense to my post, sorry, but I don't care. I cannot show compassion to him or anyone else who's actions are similar.

"It looks like this, only real!" I'm crying my eyes out here! HH

LEAFS NEWS~ Tomas Kaberle Trade!
Headhunter replied to crappyfisherman's topic in General Discussion
Kabby is too soft a player to fit into Burke's long term plans. Yes, he's a great puck mover and passer, but weak in the corners and plays soft when the going gets tough. And he pretty much disappears when the playoff start. If I can think back that far! LMAO Burke has stated emphatically that he wants a tough team. He's stated that he got sick and tired of watching his trainers out on the ice, he wants to see the other teams guys repairing their guys! I hope he gets good value for Kabby, but in the end, I won't miss him. HH -
Length of blade really doesn't bother me, until it's time to skin. I prefer a long blade when skinning, ensure that there is always more blade then fillet. I have three Rap knives, like them all. HH

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090625/...s_obit_fawcett As a guy who grew up in the 70's, her poster was a must have. Don't know many guys who didn't have it, or the t-shirt version. RIP Farrah... you were an inspiration for so many guys! HH

When I was a kid, we fished'em in the Thames, Springbank Dam... loaded with them. I tried every trick in the book to get them in. They would hit just about anything, but getting a hook set turned into a pure luck situation. We finally ended up using the following technique: Firstly, we used a bobber as they were almost always within a couple of feet of the surface. We would tie a treble hook, just below the bobber, 6 inches actually and cover the entire treble with minnows. It wasn't fool proof, but it was the best way to land them. Stopped fishin for them after a while as they really don't fight... just get the tip of their nose out of the water and motor boat them in. HH

My brother had a 16 ft run about. The seats were rather low to the boats floor, so, he found himself sitting on the top of the back rest, most of the time when running from spot to spot. He was fishing the Moon basin for Lunge and would just toss his lures onto his boat seat, when ever he changed up. He had just finished tossing around a ten inch Jake, I believe. Dropped it on his seat and started tossing some other big bait. He noticed that a very large and very dark cloud was making it's way towards him, but not wanting to leave, he thought he'd hang in until the last possible moment. Well, we all know that, that moment always comes about 2-3 minutes earlier than we think it will. The rains came down and he frantically started to pack up. there were a number of boats heading in at that time, it was wake city! SO he's sitting on top of the back of his seat and hits another boats wake, at speed. The force of the wake, knocked his off the back of the seat, right on top of the Jake. He's wearing a nylon bathing suit, with a Jake impalled on his buttocks! He could not remove the hook or the lure from the hook, his wife is laughing so hard, she's of no use. They have to head to Mac Tier. with my sister in law driving the truck, my brother laying in the back of the F150, on his belly! The doctor took one look at my brother and had to excuse himself... he was laughing so hard. It was an easy extraction and yes, he still puts his musky baits on his seat! HH

After years of having people ask me "Hey Joe, where you going with that gun in yer hand" or being called "Yer average Joe" or "Joe Public or a litany of other descriptive terms, I decided when I joined here, to use a handle. My handle reflects what essentially takes up most of my days, my job. For those that don't know, the term "Headhunter" is a slang term used to describe an person who is in the employment agency business. SInce I have been called far worse names over my lifetime, I actually find it some what endearing. It also leaves some folks wondering and that I always find amusing. HH aka Joe
