  1. When checking your fish finder(settings and options) out of water, is it true it will burn out your transponder if the transponder is not submerged in a bucket of water?.I believe it's recommended, but is it necessary in your experience? Maybe it's just keeping it wet or submerged/why?. Thanks for any opinions.
  2. Very nice as always!!!
  3. Maybe it's a start of more to come?
  4. What a shame,up to 20 kids.Senseless!!!
  5. And I like it too!!!!!!!
  6. Good to be refreshed,over 20 years since my hut,you soon forget what's good and what's not.Thanks.
  7. All for trying new products, but the regular swivel works well for me.Will be interesting to hear the feedback. I haven't fished big enough fish yet for that to be a option for me.
  8. No doubt the man can handle a knife, sure seems a lot more work than your average trout!!lol.
  9. No Burt,I think it might be a Christmas gift, lol. It is easy enough to change over. My problem was that this unit works well in the summer, and apparently just as well in the winter. One unit for all seasons. Make sure it is a smart charger.
  10. Fisherman, tried finding connectors but to no avail. Terry you were right, cut the lead to the AA battery box at about 3",put male spade connectors at that end, female connectors on the main lead from the transducer. Best of both worlds, slip the line connector to the gel battery,or to the end plug and use with AA batteries when need be.I like it,thanks everyone! I also think the charger for $19.99 is a must,it has a shut down with a maint charge. No need to worry about forgetting to unplug the charger. $34.99 for the battery,7ah.
  11. As said earlier, common sense is what you need . No more" dictatorship",offer the people who have snow tires a rebate. Would not take long for people to jump on board I would think. Snows are great.Just don't think your invincible. No more you have to do this,do that. JMO.
  12. Thank you,I was thinking something along that line. Will drop by on the way home tomorrow!
  13. I'd really like to find one of those plug in adapters.Would be a nice clean install. I'll pick up a battery at BPS tomorrow anyway, and than see what I need to rig up. Thanks.
  14. I can solder, but would I only have access to the gel pack now on,or will it still allow me to use AA batteries when needed?
  15. I heard It's a dry cold,so you don't feel it as bad!!.
  16. Very sad, common sense is your best friend. Grew up at blue water beach till 21. 12 and 14' boats were all we had. Must respect Georgian bay as well. Can sure turn nasty with little shelter. And as said,a mechanical breakdown and a off shore breeze, lookout.
  17. Forgot guys to mention it's portable. I know I mentioned batteries but finding out now with the different connectors may not be as easy. Two separate connections from the transponder. Is there a adapter for the plug to the battery,as the other wire goes to the screen?. Maybe I'm missing something, but a gentleman today said if it was the fixed mount no problem. Thanks for any help.
  18. Kinda reminds me of the killer whales and the seals.
  19. Hard to believe the pigeons can't see the fish that close to them. There some smart fish!!
  20. First thing I thought:P.Lol.
  21. Nice fish Chris!!,still hoping to get out a couple more times at least.
  22. Or you could just follow the crowd!!.
  23. I guess a normal battery charger is way overkill?. Kinda like the plug in type charger though. That's not a gel battery Rich?
