  1. Do you feel the same way about Rosa Parks?
  2. Re: "Why would someone put their flight on the way to their wedding in jeopardy" On the other hand, why would United Airlines fabricate a story about what really happened when they are already suffering from bad publicity from the Dr incident. In this case, I find United's version of the events to be more believable. I wonder if any witnesses will post their account of what happened on social media.
  3. As long as you remember to open the vent to run the motor, you should be fine. The tank may implode a little if it gets cold; but it should pop back into shape when you open the vent. Keeping the tank topped up when you store it will minimize pressure issues. But you probably won't have any regardless.
  4. Actually, asking someone to give up their seat after they have boarded the plane is very rare. It may not have even been legal for the airline to bump him at this point. Generally if you are going to be bumped from the flight; it happens before boarding. I don't think the media really has much choice on who will be the poster boy for this issue. What are they going to do? Wait until someone with a less embarrassing past gets dragged off of a plane? I am not really sure what you are getting at with the amount required for a volunteer. There wouldn't be a media frenzy if they had a volunteer. They didn't need Dao to volunteer; just someone on the plane. United has some of the lowest average payouts for volunteers in the industry. Most airlines would offer at least $1,350 before they bumped someone. One airline stated that they have gone as high as $9,000. If they had offered a little more, I am sure that someone who could afford to be a day late would have accepted their offer. While Dao may be making the most of the situation. He could hardly have planned this.
  5. His past is irrelavent. He never should have been asked to give up his seat in the first place. United was too cheap to offer a decent incentive for people to volunteer; now they are paying the price for it.
  6. Now United offers both Red Eye and Black Eye flights. He shouldn't have been asked to leave the plane in the first place. United was too cheap to offer a decent incentive to get volunteers. United has usually offered much lower incentives than other airlines. They have since increased the limits that staff are allowed to offer; so they may have this problem in the future. Here is a little satire on the issue. The funny part is reading the comments and realizing that there are people who actually believe that this really happened. http://thedailystooge.com/airline-straps-man-to-roof/
  7. I don't think that you need to feel bad if you cancel. Just be upfront with the guy about why you don't want to follow through. Alternatively, perhaps he can give some references that you make you feel a little more at ease with the other guide. You won't know until you talk to him.
  8. What do you mean by pressurized? Normally the tank is vented so it wouldn't be under pressure. The vent can be closed when you are not running the motor; but I never bothered. The only time I would close the vent would be if you are transporting in an enclosed vehicle. Some old Evinrude/Johnson outboards did use pressurized tanks instead of having a fuel pump. But you don't see many of those.
  9. I ran a 55 hp off a portable tank for over 10 years. I would generally get a days fishing on less than a full tank. Make sure you keep the tank vent open when in use. Also, the tank should be stowed in an unvented compartment in the boat.
  10. Is this what you mean by white ladder back?
  11. I know that Lymans are popular on Georgian Bay and some people use them on Lake Ontario too. Has anybody had much success with J-Plugs for salmon and trout on Lake Ontario?
  12. You're a hoot Ottawa lost a game against a team that they owned. But it's the Leafs (who are 4 & 0 in playoffs against Ottawa) who took the heavily favoured top team into overtime, that always find a way to choke. You are entertaining. I will give you that.
  13. I haven't really had a problem with scam emails from Kijiji or Autotrader. Craigslist is bad for spam and scam emails; I would avoid listing it there. I get a lot emails from AutoTrader that simply say that someone wants to know more about the vehicle. I assume that the website has a default response that many people don't bother to modify. Usually when I respond with an email requesting that they send specific questions, I don't hear back. I would advertise on both Kijiji and Autotrader. You will probably get more responses from AutoTrader; but I don't see any reason not to be on both.
  14. The Scotty rail mount with a Carbon 16 would look on your toon
  15. Interestly, StarCraft and Smokercraft, along with Sylvan, are all one company. I do think that StarCraft are their premium line though.
  16. It's definitely a problem, but some of these claims seem a little far fetched. NWT and north eastern Quebec are completely differerent water sheds than the Great Lakes. The second statement seems to describe a snakehead or walking catfish rather than any of the asian carp species.
  17. Scotty has rail mounts. You should be able to combine a rail mount with any of the products in the original link.
  18. Oh, I didn't know that. Is that something that they were forced to do when the penny was taken out of circulation? Honest question.
  19. I wonder how they will compare to RAM. http://scottyfishingproducts.blogspot.ca/2017/04/sneak-peek-new-scotty-ball-mounting.html
  20. Wouldn't most people just buy them at the gate? It's not like they're going to sell out.
  21. Tracker has had a problem with cracked hulls. They are often referred to as "Cracker" boats. Some say that only certain years and models had a problem. Others recommend staying away from Tracker altogether.
  22. There is no maximum that I cannot afford
  23. I guess it would take quite a while to get the whole lake mapped. It will probably be pretty detailed when it was done though.
  24. I think you want to be there early for tackle swaps. It was not as bigs the Bowmanville swap, but there was quite a bit of stuff there at 9:00 AM.
  25. They still have one more season game. It makes sense to have another backup if they don't want to use him today.
