  1. I took a hunting course about 15 years ago but never took up the sport. If I remember correctly, the boat cannot still be in motion from the motor when they begin shooting. I.e. you cannot start shooting as soon as you cut the motor, you have to wait until the motion from the motor stops. I do not believe that they have to be anchored, drifting is okay. I don't think that it is legal to have a loaded firearm in the boat while it is under power. I am going on 15 year old memories and the laws may have changed. However, I am certain that they have broken at least one and probably more laws.
  2. Speaking for myself; I find it very difficult not to see a difference. If someone is transporting fish shortly after teh season closes, there is a high likelyhood that the fish were caught during the season; especially if the person is returning from trip that began prior to the close. Contrast that with a person returning from a trip before the season opens. Is he going to say that he caught them last and took them up to the lodge and is now bringing them back hope? Good luck convincing the CO. As for being unable to prove that fish being transported out of season were caught during the open season; how is that different then transporting during the open season? You still cannot prove that they were caught during open season, they may have been caught before the season opened; especially if it is early in the season.
  3. You don't have to prove it. It would be up to the crown to prove that you did catch them after the season closed. Remember, you are innocent until proven guilty.

  5. My first though when I saw the video was what happens when you have to stop? According to the comments, that has been worked out. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1704445/moto...le_tow_vehicle/
  6. Looks like the coho world record has once again been set with another Lake Ontario fish. http://www.great-lakes.org/8-23-98.html Thanks to ccmt for finding a more up to date link ;-) http://www.salmoncrazy.com/2008/09/04/deta...hotos-and-more/
  7. Yes, but the earth had been cooling between 1944 to 1977. I remember seeing movies in school about how polution was reflecting the sun light back into space and causing a new ice age. I understand that the earth's temperature has been stable since 1999 and are expected to remain so for the next 15 years. This could be a blip in a long term increase; or, maybe the end of a short term increase.
  8. I would consider Peticoat to be more of stream than a creek. There is not a whole lot of water flowing through it. It may get a seasonal run of trout, but I have never heard it mentioned as a trout fishing destination.
  9. 1984 was also a boycott year. The Russians and other Eastern Block countries (with the exception of Romania) were not present. This resulted in an inflated medal count. I don't think that China competed then either. If they did, they weren't the power house that they are now.
  10. For those of you getting more than the CCRA limits ( $0.52 / km and $0.46 / km after 5,000km) should know that you are required to claim the entire re-imbursement as income. However, you will be able to deduct your auto expenses. For those being re-imbursed for the CCRA limits or less, there is no need to report the re-imbursement as income.
  11. The fist thing that I would check is to look for debrie in the intake. I have a lot of trees' around my dock so I have constantly having to removed twiggs, etc., from the bilge pimps intake.
  12. The stocking is done on upper sections of the river. However, since they are migratory fish they will use the lower sections of the river as well. The upstream portions of tbe river are often closed during the main part of the run.
  13. How has the card board box performed in the rain this year?
  14. Thank for the replies. I will try a couple of these places this week.
  15. I don't have any information on that particular model. If I remember correctly, Pinpoint originally offerred electric motors. They carried models which would track a specified distance from shore, or a specified depth. This required a transducer in the motor, so they starting offering fish finders that worked with their motors. I beleive that they were bought out by Brunswick who make Mercury, Moterguide, and quite a few different boat lines.
  16. I am interested in the Transducer Mounting Plates from Cabela's. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...=4887&Nty=1 Has anybody ever seen these for sale in Canada; preferably in the Eastern GTA? I would prefer to purchase from a store here rather than order. I would also consider a Portable Transducer Bracket. I have never seen these sold in Canada either. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...=4887&Nty=1
  17. Actually, that depends on they types of contaniments that are present in the fish. Organic compounds such as dioxins, pesticides, etc. do tend to accumulate in the fatty tissue. Avoiding the high fat belly area of the fish will reduce your exposure to these contaniments. Heavy metals such as mercury accumulate in the flesh. Cutting the bellies off won't help if mercury is an issue.
  18. The Rouge is stocked with Brown Trout which spawn in the fall. There will be salmon on the Rouge as well although it is not regularily stocked. Remember to check the regulations for what is open after September 30th.
  19. Lowrance / Eagle sells a bracket specifically for mounting their transducer on an electric motor. That's what I used to attach mine. I used twist ties to fasten the cable to the shaft of the motor. Be sure to allow enough slack for the motor to rotate.
  20. I have a Sea Doo inflatable with a 2.5 hp Nissan. I am happy with it. It is great for getting into the back lakes. Inflatable boats are quite stable. Most have multiple air chambers so you can still float with a leak. I am not sure about putting a 9hp motor on a "cheap" inflatable though. most of the cheaper boats are only rated for a couple of hp.
  21. If you are heading east then mornnig rush hour won't be an issue. Just be there before 3:00pm to avoid the afternoon rush when everybody is leaving TO for Oshawa.
  22. That reminds me of the Canada Day weekend when I pulled into the marina for gas. I was informed that I had just missed the Bare Naked Ladies. My ears perked up and I thought, "Wow, that's cool, I wonder which way they went. Then, much to my dissapointment, I realized that he was referring to the band. Oh well, at least I did catch a couple of pike.
  23. One of my clients was doing some research on the Toyoto Prius before making the purchase. Appearently their batteries will need to be replaced every five years on average. Any guesses as to what a new battery will cost?
  24. If the bonds are not being broken wouldn't it still just be water? When hydrogen burns it does so by combining with oxygen in an exothermic reaction. If the hydrogen in HHO is already bonded to the oxygen molecules ("O-H Bonds ARE NOT being broken", as quoted from your post); then what exactly happens when HHO burns? Even if we accept that H2O somehow becomes HHO when electricity is applied to it; and we accept that HHO is somehow different then H20 even though they both consist of two hydrogen atoms bonded to one oxygen atom (remember, you said the bonds were not broken); why wouldn't the Law of Conservation of Energy apply to this reaction?
  25. I assume that PT means pressure treated. Doesn't pressure treated corrode aluminum? Should be okay for fibreglass.
