  1. Doesn't show a bbcode on mine????
  2. It was a great time! But if round two goes down today it's gonna be mid day to give them a better chance at landing fish. It went from +25 at 5pm to only +10 at 8pm, waaaày too much of a cool down. I was hoping it stayed warm because it was a beautiful sunny day and I figured the top water bite was gonna be on fire. The kid(Joey) that won is a natural. He's been fishing for a month and has a wicked cast with a baitcasters. First thing he tied on was a chatterbait, and im thinking this kid knows what's up lol He did get one gnarly backlash so I showed him how to get that out. Showed them a few new knots too and how to properly handle a northern.
  3. So, I found this epic "looking" shore spot. Decided to check it out this evening with my bro in law, son and two of his friends. I figured as the sun set it would be perfect for pike/bass. But, the kiddos came up with this 30 minute derby idea, to which I agreed. Me and my bro in law took a seat and let the kiddos have at er! Biggest fish of any legal species took bragging rights! It was so fun to watch them running running shorelines, docks, re tying baits/lures, trying to sabotage each other lol. 30 mins and no fish landed as a cold front moved in, unfortunately. So we went to a 5 minute overtime. One kiddo landed a pike, maybe 24-26" in the last minute for the win! I had an absolute blast watching and it was alot of fun! They all had access to my tackle bag just to make things fair. All the kids were asking if we could do it again tomorrow lol If I can figure out how to post the pics I will(some are awesome!) If I cant, can someone shoot me a pm of their email to post? Anyways, what a wicked fun time!
  4. Love those days!
  5. Congrats!!!
  6. Nice one Geoff! Looks pretty darn long!
  7. No idea of the laws there. But if caught in NW Ontario you'd be fishing up s**** creek without a paddle
  8. Good thing momma could see her cub Lew! Glad your ok! About 5-6 years ago I was shore fishing and to my east was very tall grass. I suspect her cubs we're in there. When momma showed up on the north of me maybe 150 feet away, I thought nothing of it but to send my kids home through a trail around the rapids and tell Mom Im in trouble. That bear charged me and stopped about 5-8 feet away, stood up and started smacking the ground. This lasted maybe 30 seconds but it felt like hours. Then she stood down and calmly walked into the long grass My heart rate never calmed down for a good 5 hours and I'll never forget it! I've had hundreds of encounters with black bears and they honestly never bothered me one bit But that experience, im def alot more cautious now
  9. Those pics are brutal! Personally I'd avoid that place like the plague that it is
  10. Probably see some cool pics from the Midwest US. From Ontario it would only be partial anyhow. Here it's cloudy and raining so I didn't see jack, not even in a Limeyangler video
  11. Oh I hope this works out! Fishing is indeed the best therapy for many in need!
  12. Wow! If ya woulda told me bill never caught a muskie I'd call ya full of it. That's one heck of a fish bill! Congrats!
  13. Let's just chill. We know people of all backrounds poach and that is a fact that doesn't really need to be pointed out. Nothing worth arguing over other than discussion about abused waterways and bad "fishing" techniques
  14. Yep, just said it's offensive. Not that I don't believe ya!
  15. Not that im gonna lose sleep over it or anything, but it's offensive. But as a believer in free speech as well, it is what it is
  16. Great looking fish! Awesome report as per usual Mike! Looks like a great time was had! You sure have them dialed
  17. It looks disturbing lol. So fricken good though!
  18. I own everything from $30 rods/reels to $400 rods/reels To me it's like work boots. Middle ground is what works best for ME. Actually, my fav. Spinning reel is lower end, okuma avengers. Retail around $50 Favorite rods are my Shimano clarus But I probably fish most with Berkley lightening rods more than anything
  19. I agree On that note, I got my second only visit from OPP while fishing off a dock the other day. Nice to see that boat that sits in emo 99% of the year in use! Pleasant guys too! Quick license check/chat and off they went
  20. Roy Orbison on the playlist tonight. So good!
  21. Must try this! Great idea!
  22. Yeah it's bad in NW Ontario. I still remember it being around 90 cents in fort Frances and it was around $2 in ear falls (where I worked at the time)
  23. Darn man, hopefully this work of art stays safe(along with you of course) Amazing work!
