Tonight on the barbie I'm burning a couple of Zeller's burgers for me and a President's Choice Portabello meatless burger for my wife (vegetarian)... If you haven't tried Zeller's you're missing a good one, a bit more expensive a box than most but you get a dozen per... I do enjoy the odd pork chop or a small beef prime rib steak ( when either is on sale )... And of course some veggies done in the metal basket... Best BBQ scoff in town is the smorgasboard that Meelie cooks up at the Manor ...Eh Lew ???

The cost of 2 rechargable batteries for my CTC cordless drill is damn near the price of a new drill (Batteries incl.)

Just kidding...makes for less lawn to cut...

I guess the odour from Stinky and Smelly lingered on from yesterday...one good hit but no runners today for me... CPH landed one carp about fifteen pounds...looked good on him as he has been blanked three times this year already...

I think I will leave Stinky and Smelly at home tomorrow... I had one good hit that peeled off about 4 feet of line then dropped the bait...the only other bumps were from the ducks and weeds catching the line in the current...

About twenty-five years ago my daughter blessed (?) us with a couple of grandchildren... Once they began talking and stumbling over their words I used to tell them that I thought they were "full of beans"... They started to refer to me as grampa beans...Maribeth's daughter's son couldn't handle all that in one mouthfull so as I was outside cleaning the windows he was inside banging on the window with one of his little cars and hollering "Beans""Beans"..."you break my window...and I'll come in there and beans you!" Before long the whole damn family was calling me "Beans" so it was easy to pick a name for this board...Couldn't get "Beans" for Hotmail as it was taken but beansguy was available...close enough... "Tin of Beans" is the name of my boat...named by my old pal Jack (Nanook)

I got a chainsaw also...only problem is it is electric and useless in a "blackout"... Like Cliff sez..."it is a long way to come just to remove half of a very tall spruce tree" that snapped off and is sitting on top of my shed...Nice of you to offer...

Just got off the phone from talking with both Meely and Cliff Meely couldn't stand the not knowing so he and a friend took a run up last evening just before dark to find that the "Manor" was fine , no power so he lost stuff in the fridge and freezer but other than that "alls well"... I thanked Cliff for his kind offer for the generator...at least we could alternate the power from the stand-up freezer and the other fridge in the garage so hopefully our food loss will be minimal... Quite a 48 hours...cooking and boiling water for coffee on the bbq...watching some old dvds "The Best of Johnie Carson" and "The Best of The Beverly Hillbillies" on the TV...listening to the ball games and news on radio (battery powered)... We don't realize how much we rely on electricity, cable and phones until they are not available... See ya on Sunday Cliff...I threw a tarp over the generator as they are calling for rain tonight...

I noticed Mike Smith (Food Network) keeps his butter for his buttermilk bisquits in the freezer then grates it into the dry ingredients...

Your mother makes the best damn bisquits I have ever tasted... Rumor has it that CPH's wife Debbe makes good bisquits also but...???

Various sizes of red and white daredvle spoons... X-raps produce well also...
