  1. to beggar belief (intransitive) To appear implausible or unbelievableIt beggars belief to suppose that corporate policies can always pursue the best interests of a company. just saying that without a clear indication of the topic, we all focused on the fire and the firefighters not doing anything rather than the unbelievable idea that we have to pay extra for firefighting service, which btw,i find unbelievable as well. peace paul
  2. spending the weekend being thankful for being alive.21 years of sobriety,21 more years that the big guy gave me to do his work.taking the nephew out on saturday for some fishing, sharing the saturday meal with him and his wife and new daughter..Sunday morning i was invited to speak at a meeting in downtown montreal.always some new peolple coming in off the streets and seeing if they are really in need of help. 3. hummm, i read and re read the post, but dont see a comment at all.you put the topic in and like all controversial posts, we ran with it HTHM.
  4. absolutely right. fire fighters are like soldiers. they work as a tight team, taking orders from superiors who have the experience and the knowledge to direct his men. I,m sure any of us would have tried to help, but when it comes to risking your comrades lives, we would think twice and look for direction from someone able to make the decisions.
  5. i think that all of us, myself included, are missing alot of points. most of the responses to this thread have been emotionally expressed. the sad truth is that it does cost money.lots of money, to rescue people, fight fires and have ambulances dispatched. someone has to pay, and if its not included in our taxes somehow or in our insurances, then most often we are billed. there is so much that happens behind the scenes that we are unaware of.liability, jurisdiction, union rules, insurance.there must have been a valid reason, even though we cant understand it. as in all news reports, we never really get all the information we need to make an educated opinion.
  6. iits our moral duty as people, to help out.I think we are even obliged by law to help someone in danger to the best of our ability.

  14. YOU KNOW SOMETHING,now that im sittin here thinking about it, that is what he said. I got them mixed up. I told him my bro had taken the 2 low x135 off his ranger and given them to me, and replaced with hummingbird. He said that that was a silly move, and went on with his story. Go Lowrance, i stand corrected.
  15. FROM THE OWNER OF technics chasse et peche on tascherau. Hey...I,m new, so i listen to anyone i think is smarter than me he went into a long explanation of sales territories and the lakes in the southern states being shallower than up here and . It made sense, so i believed him. I was even planning on getting Hummingbird for my new boat. Should i stay now with Lowrance? Satisfied???
  16. HUMMINGBIRD. if you have a casting deck and fish alone, bow mount and console mount on network.Console so you can find THE SPOT, bow mount so you can stay on the TARGET while fishing. I understand Hummingbird is better in the deeper waters we have in canada.Get color screen, its easier to read 'at a glance' than greyscale.
