  1. Actually, your not as crazy as you think. Last summer, i bought a new 14' Princecraft and 8hp Merc off my brother. He won it at the Ottawa boat show, so i got an excellent deal on it.I traded it this spring for a 16' Princecraft Starfish SC with a 40HP Merc.Actually got more than i paid for the Fisherman, as a trade in Its small compared to some peoples boats, but i thought long and hard about the type of fishing i expected to do, and where i expected to fish, and this setup fit my needs perfectly. Its fast enough to get me many miles to where i want to fish, and lite enough that i can tow it easily with my Ranger.I added 2 swivel pedestal seats, 1 in the front, 1 in the back, and a Minn kota Edge bow mount. Its a nice comfortable boat for 2 to fish out of, and i even fished 3 out of it this summer, with no problem.
  2. I have a Curado 300 and do not have the problem you are describing. If it doesn't feel right, take it back.Try another in the store. Don;t let anyone tell you its normal unless they can prove it.
  3. Great report Dan! I had trouble finding the fish this weekend too Have to figure out the pattern for this time of year.
  4. Wow....don't know what to say, other than Deepest sympathy for your loss, and congrats on your first Muskie
  5. Well fact is, since yesterday, we repaired the fence, cut the grass, weeded the garden, and cleaned up the yard. So i guess it wasn't as bad as i thought.
  6. Nice work Chad and Dana !!! Great report and awesome pics.
  7. I like your logic. Maybe we'll get out on the water in the morning. Not as if we have alot to do now that its all been done today.
  8. I think you are right about the "NEW" boat thing. It allows me to venture farther onto the water and explore new fishing areas. This is only my second year back to fishing, so the drive to re-learn and catch fish is really strong. I am pretty lucky to have a wife you shares my passion though
  9. The wife and i were sitting on the deck this morning haveing coffee, and looking around the yard.Grass uncut, weeds in the flowers, fence needing mending, branches on the ground after irene passed through. "We will have to sell this place in a couple of years, cause we cant keep up with the place" She said. I thought about that for a few minutes, and then i said."Since the first of may, we have fished every day it hasnt rained. We get home from work, and within 1/2 hour,we are on the water till dark. When we arent fishing, its raining. I checked the GPS, and we have fished for over 230 hours since may." We looked at each other, and she said"Well, next year we will have to balance our fishing with our other resposibilities like house work, and yard work." So we decided right there, that next year, fishing will be 1 step lower on the priority list, and that house up keep will be our number 1. Then we got in gear, cut the grass, mended the fence, and de-weeded the gardens. I feel we caught ourselves just in time. Cudz's thread really made me stop and think. Even though we fish together, the enjoyment can become an addicdtion, and the addiction can cause the rest of the world to collapse around us.Non fishing friends stopped callling us because we were always on the water. So, with the fall rapidly approaching and the days getting shorter, we will slowly withdraw from the addiction, and next spring, hopefully we will approach the new soft water season better able to balance fishing with the rest of our lives. Thats next year. for now, there will still be lots of time to fish

  17. Cant go wrong with those Dana. Both were revolutionary designs when the were introduced.I have caught more fish on those 2 lures over the years, than anything else. Today, my favorites are still Rapala lures in the DT series.
  18. Seeing as they have sharp teeth, count yourself lucky they are leaving your Parts alone
  19. Its still there BCD, in the hearts and minds of every free human being living in every Democratic country in the world. Hats off to all the rescue workers from around the world also.In the words of Winston Churchill,"Never in the field of human conflict, has so much been owed by so many, to so few."
