  1. nice rainbows. That's a fight that'll keep you coming back for more. Dill is great for flavor when curing red-trout meat, but I've never used it for cooking....next time.

  3. Bahaha What is the difference between normal bacon and bacon jerky? More salt? I wonder what it would taste like deep-fried?
  4. You could tie it "hair-rig" style so if it doesn't get eaten it could be released. ...but it might drown, or get thumped against the boat I couldn't bring myself to stabbing a mouse but I wouldn't necessarily judge someone for doing it.
  5. My company is aggressively hiring again. Looking for a Project Manager to coordinate environmental remediations in Thunder Bay. 2 years in the enviro/civil field would be the minimum. College or university an asset, just as much as good experience is. Client relation type experience is also an asset. Lots of freedom (for fishing ) and potential for good $. PM me and I'll forward you the job posting. Please not too many questions... the job posting will let you know if you want to apply or not.
  6. A good primer for eeryon who is pike fishing this weekend! Team 2 KNOWS there is a 50 incher in those waters. Haha
  7. My dad is in AP right now and he told me a couple days ago that he was going to pre-cook fried eggs. Ugh, I told him that was horrible idea ... I can't image they would taste good after three days bouncing around in a pack sack. I would just bring one of those egg carriers and wrap the eggs in paper towel to protect them. My dad has many more crazy ideas... He sure knows how to pack light though!!
  8. Glad to hear, especially with my new Crucial on it's way. This sale will end soon! It's last years model btw. http://ca.wholesalesports.com/storefront/fresh-saltwater-fishing/spinning-rods/crucial-spinning-rod/prod210887.html
  9. ....just like Matt, you might even catch me doing that this summer.
  10. Thanks for posting this Randy. Our friend Matt (bassassin) will either be on high alert or dealing with fires this weekend.
  11. Agreed, a couple hundred voting shares has nearly zero influence on a company with a 1 billion share float. You could always try to invest in oil companies with a decent enviro track records..like Cenovus or any other company using only SAGD to extract oil. then again you have no idea who else holds their shares, it could be Suncor who owns 20% of Cenovus, which means they profit by "cleaner" energy, then take the profits and use it for their open pit operations. that's why I like fishing...I just have to think about catching fish.
  12. I'm happy because 'm already here. haha 40 minutes and the canoe will be on the water. Based on the markets and oil prices.... gas should be going down. Tsx down 100pts, oil down $1 to $93.
  13. Keep a close eye/ear for fish jumping near the shore where a hatch may be happening. Likely they will still be shallow but on really clear/warm days you may only see them during the morning and dusk. I would definitly stay in "spring" mode for the next couple weeks, for brookies.
  14. You've got mans intuition! You just knew where those pike would be. Good show!
  15. Awesome fish! Congrats on the win
  16. $10 I think...it's fair and it comes from Winnipeg. They are just adding it to a back-order I placed a few weeks ago. Soon I get : canoe rod holder, sweet life jacket, yoke pad and a new rod.
  17. ya, they look quite different! I was super suprised when you said Grizzly, but like you, I'm no expert, I just know not to eat bacon with a thick beard before going near bears.
  18. He is also a lawyer and oprates Bob Loblaw's Law Blog.
  19. So there are cinnamon bears in NW ontario? Is it the same species as a black bear, just different colors?
